Just a cute little comedy, slice of life manhua. Cute girls liking other cute girls. The tomboyish main character's friend, mophead, is hilarious. The relationship between them is funny. There is also a little bit of a boy-love side plot that is played mostly for laughs. Really short chapters that end up having more comedy and story than most manga these days. As of writing this, there are 79 chapters and it is currently on-going. Not the best to read month to month because the chapters consist of 5-8 images and reading it all at once took me 15 minutes. Definitely worth the read.
In complete honesty, I am shocked at the lack of reviews for Tamen de Gushi! At the time Iām writing this it only has one other review! But, if there is one thing I know about Their Story, itās that nothing will ever be so simply GOOD. Enjoyment: 10 I love this manhua. I love it with every ounce on my being and that makes this whole review extremely bias but I hope youāll take my advice and read it. Beacause itās simple to describe Tamen de Gushi in one word: nice. Itās a nice experience. The story is nice, the art is nice, the comedy isgood; the whole thing is just a pleasant experience which gives me butterflies every time it is updated. Plot: 7 Girl meets girl, girl embarrasses herself constantly in front of girl, girls become friends despite being very different; girl falls in love with girl. Itās simplistic and that works because the comedy and style of the manhua allows this story to house as much emotion as any more complex manhua, if not more. Itās basic but Tan Jui uses this to grip their readers and slowly introduce them to new themes, ideas and emotions during the gradual progression of the story. (I would rate it higher but honestly there is no complexity at all⦠OR IS THERE?) Art: 9 Again, its simplistic nature allows it to create a relaxed, clam tone with a nice light colour pallet which changes with the season within the manhua beautifully subtly. Character: 8 The characters are very real. Nothing about them feels forced or abnormal even if they are melodramatic at times. Then again, doesnāt everyone act like that around the people theyāre most comfortable with? I know I do. Problems: The only real problem is the lack of direction. Tamen de Gushi can be praised endlessly for its calming simplicity but, without any progression or clear destination for the story in each ark, the manhua is beginning to lose the interest of many. I only hope that the side characters can have more exploration in order to add the tension that 19 Days (a manhua by a close friend of Tan Jui) is gaining. Overall: 10 In terms of how good the manhua is, I donāt know. This manhua is certainly in the eye of the beholder but, for me, itās a brilliant read that I trust to entertain me whenever I see a new chapter pop up. It's easily my favourite part of any day that I read it.
Sun Jing has a massive crush on a girl she sees at the bus stationāfeminine, blonde, and absolutely adorable, Qiu Tong is everything Sun Jing desires. But the tomboyish, outgoing Sun Jing cannot bring herself to utter a single word in Qiu Tong's presence. Once she musters up the courage, however, Sun Jing successfully introduces herself and secures a friendship with the cute girl. Although they are only friends for now, Sun Jing will do anything to see Qiu Tong smile; and with her genuine kindness, she might just win Qiu Tong's heart. I've read this and reread most of it. Over 200 "chapters" where each page is a "chapter". It may be an unfinished work, which would explain why the plot never progressed. The art is nice. The characters are lovely. But there is little to no progression in the main romance of the story. And that is why I remain unenthusiastic. There are multiple gay and lesbian couples in this story, and you might think heterosexual teens were in the minority at these high schools. The focus on gay and lesbian teens has prompted speculation that the author may have been pressured by the Chinese government tostop writing or change the story. In any case it seems unfinished. If you don't mind the lack of resolution, you might enjoy the passion and romance between our main characters. I hope the author is able to draw more in the future and write these stories more completely.
This manhua is about a girl that likes a girl (Hot isn't it?) and it actually is really good. I am done reading Ch123. Good things - It actually is quite good, it doesn't progress like a normal shoujo or shoujo ai manga that completely shoves the drama or conflict up by your throat in an instant, this manhua actually gives us a bit of a development to that point or something to not completely yank us off with. The art is also amazing (apart from their broken reaction faces, I think those are intentional) Lots of things are quite detailed and nice. The scenery is alsogood and the art style of the characters is quite nice. I also love how the story progresses, almost everything has a connecting point from each story line and doesn't entirely shut us off at one point and begin another. (Also did I mention that a girl likes a girl here? It's gooooood stuff) Bad things - When is the new chapter coming out (it isn't on par with japanese release dates, so it's quite frustrating that it might come out a bit longer, but it's worth the wait.) The chapters are too fucking short. The pages are so few and sometimes they're only visuals of a character's everyday life, so sometimes it can be a real bummer since those unwanted visuals can only do so little to build up the story (and sometimes don't help at all) But I do recommend reading this if you want to read a simple love story but with a little twist, also to make you feel good and happy on the inside.
I LOVE THIS MANHWA! it's unfortunate, but this world is filled with more yuri manga that is catered towards men than it is with yuri manga that is catered towards people who aren't men. that being noted, this manhwa is truly for the sapphics! the art is beautiful, the story is simple, sweet and funny, the chapters are short and easy to read through - it's truly everything that i would look for in a gl! it's seriously awesome and so good. i'm disappointed that it's not really being updated anymore - but keep an eye on tan jiu's instagram (@tanjiu9)! they post art of sunjing and qiu tong occasionally! :3 i ā” tamen de gushi!
