A moving one-shot that presents an old message about loss in a fresh, meaningful way. The writing is warm and thoughtful without coming across as forced, and likewise the balance between fun and serious was pretty much perfect. I was also impressed with the MC; despite the short length of the work, the author managed to give the protagonist a punchy and unique personality, rather than have them be just another bland sacrificial fill-in for the story's message. The art style fits the overall tone and, while I would have liked a bit more background and history near the end of the manga, it stillfinishes as a strong narrative. This will take you less than ten minutes to read, but stay with you much, much longer.
Living a self-destructive lifestyle, young Aoi finds her room visited by various symbols of springâcherry blossoms and butterfliesâall silently watching over her days. A new tale of love and life from the unique mind. (Source: MANGA Plus)
I liked it. The writing in this one-shot is superb. I truly appreciate when a writer can convey inner emotions with subtlety. This manga made me appreciate the little things around me. From the morning sunshine to moonless dark nights. We often forget how much we rely on the quiet, unsung wonders that surround us. This might sound a bit preachy, but for a moment while reading⊠I genuinely appreciated Allah for allowing me to be alive. (Note: this manga doesnât have any religious sentiment, this is just my personal reflection). Thatâs a blessing, isnât it? To walk. To eat. To live...And to be loved by another. That was the heart of this one-shot. Highly recommended.
