This isn't a perfect adaptation of the light novel, but it's miles better than the movie. Character designs are a bit questionable at times, especially for more close up shots, but it doesn't impact the reading experience much. I do think there was a lot more comedy added compared to the light novel, which kinda makes the emotional scenes less emotional. The characters do feel pretty similar to their ln counterparts, and are actually expressive, unlike in the movie. Just don't watch the movie. I beg of you 🙏 Overall is a good adaptation and definitely worth the read if lns aren't your thing. If you'refine with reading books then go read the light novel instead
Kaoru Tono heard a rumor: The laws of space and time mean nothing to the Urashima Tunnel. If you find it, walk through and you'll find your heart's desire on the other side...in exchange for years of your own life. On the night Kaoru just so happens to find himself standing in front of a tunnel that looks suspiciously like the one the rumor describes, he finds himself thinking of Karen, the sister he lost in an accident five years ago. To Kaoru's surprise, he's been followed by the new transfer student Anzu Hanaki, who promises to help him experiment with the mysterious tunnel—but what does she want from Kaoru in exchange? And what will he have left to give, after the tunnel's done with him? (Source: Seven Seas Entertainment)
A very beautiful story with a meaningful message. The characters are very interesting, and the way they faced their problems/traumas and emotions was portrayed realistically. The mystery of the tunnel and how they dealt with its existence and discovered how it worked was also very interesting and realistic. I really enjoyed reading this manga, and the ending was satisfying. The art is very good, with nothing to complain about. I saw the movie first, this manga is superior to the movie and the story is more developed (although the light novel is the original source anyway, unfortunately it is not available in my language). I loved this manga and,of course, I highly recommend it.
