Mixed Feelings

Do you think when you poop? Do you get weird ideas while pooping? If not, then the author Junji Ito is one hundred percent yes. All the stories in this book seemed to me as if the author made them up on the toilet. It would explain why it ends up with an open ending or an incomprehensible ending. It would also explain why one story is quite funny and the other is stupid. I think it all depended on whether the author pooped well. If the pooping process was more demanding and lengthy and the poops splashed hard, we got a slightly longer storywith the most absurd scenes. If the pooping process was quick and everything went great, the story was, on the contrary, shorter, less sensual. I really like Uzumaki from the author, great horror, excellent mindfuck, I think Gyo was also a pretty good read. But on the other hand, Tomie was a pain in the ass for me. And this was a pretty brisk read too. a lot of things don't make sense here, a lot of things end in a way that doesn't really end at all. And perhaps only two stories were at least somewhat entertaining. There is a charm to disgusting pictures that are very beautifully drawn, but in collaboration with weak ideas, it makes cinders.

Por isso, se você procura uma leitura rápida de conceitos curiosos para um terror, principalmente no ocidente, está no lugar certo. Notas:( Baseadas puramente na minha opinião sobre a história já que a arte é a mesma )

This is my favorite Junji Ito collection so I wanted to review it. I will go over each story separately, rank them and briefly explain how I feel about them. Shiver - 7/10 Ito's attempt at triggering trypophobia which I think he mostly succeeds at Used record - 6/10 Interesting concept that doesn't unfortunately gets explored further. This is one of those stories where I really wish they were longer Fashion model - 5/10 Very basic horror, you have a gruesome monster going around and killing people. That's pretty much it. It honestly doesn't even feel like a Ito story, it lacks weirdness and interesting ideas Ito is known forHanging balloons - 8/10 Definitely one of Ito's weirdest stories. It is just so bizarre and filled with amazing panels. It doesn't have to make any sense, you just get immersed into it Marionette mansion - 6/10 Quite predictable but I always found the dolls creepy so it has that going for it. Plus, I find doll's name being Jean-Pierre funny Painter - 5/10 It's okay, nothing special. Don't have any strong feelings about it The Long Dream - 10/10 My favorite Junji Ito story of all time. The concept is interesting and incredibly dreadful. As someone who always had certain fears when it comes to dreams. this story hits the mark. It may not be very scary visually but conceptually, I consider it a top tier horror Honored ancestors - 9/10 Terrifying story, nice twist and a dark ending I genuinely didn't expect Greased - 9/10 For me, the most disturbing story. It's ability to make me uncomfortable is unmatched. Creepy twist at the end is just a cherry on top Fashion model: Cursed frame - 3/10 Fashion model again but worse Overall a very good collection, with some of Ito's all time greats.
