If you're a fan of the main series, it's impossible not to enjoy these OVAs. While the focus is shifted away from our main couple, these episodes are undeniably sweet, and delve deeper into some of the side relationships that didn't get as much focus in the main series. My only complaint was that the second episode ended on a pretty unsatisfying note, though I can only hope that might be rectified in the future with another season. Overall though, the OVAs are very similar in tone to previous episodes, so there's no reason not to give them a watch.
This works on it's own. I have not seen the show or plan to watch it, but I decide to watch this ova. The ova tells the background story of one of the couple of the show. It is sweet and funny. There is more romance in this 22 min ova than multiple episode anime. You don't need to watch the show to enjoy it. This is one of more realistic couple i have seen in anime too. They argue and fight, he isn't the most handsome and she isn't the most prettiest, they are a real couple instead of your princesmeet princess anime. If you are looking for something original you won't find it here i praise it for having realistic couple but it been done before. What it does it does right. They played safe with the story but it was still much fun.

A story on its own in the universe of the hard love life of nerds. I love it honestly, a very heart-racing story of falling in love, their first exchanges. You can clearly see how the connection grows from team captains to something more. The story is well written, a nice flashback on high school life of the two main characters of the show, the only thing that's sad is that we didn't get more episodes out of this, as it could easily be a story on its own. When it comes to OVA's I really don't like them as most of the time theydon't really give you anything important to the story, but this one just blew my mind. Expecting just some random side story, I got to experience when the main characters were in high school and had their first contacts. All in all worth watching even if you didn't watch the show. It will spoil a few things just a warning.
Disclaimer: I read the manga, so I feel I'm in position to give a more wholesome picture. No spoilers. The main couple of Wotakoi are Hirotaka and Narumi - the gaming addict and fujoshi doujinshi writer. These OVA episodes give some much needed attention to the two other less significant couples of the show. So, the first OVA is about the coming together of the most senior couple in Wotakoi - Kabakura and Koyanagi, or the casual otaku and the cosplayer, if you will. It's sort of a prequel, as it goes back to them both in high school. In context of the manga, their story waskind of spread over multiple floating chapters. This writer does that a lot and I hate it. Had I not watched this OVA before diving into the manga, I'd probably get somewhat lost. This episode was actually great. Second episode is kinda lacking. It deals with the youngest couple (to be) in the show and the least significant one - Naoya and Kou, or the dweeb (for lack of a better word) and the literal gamer girl. Really, their story was told in much greater detail in the manga. This OVA felt REALLY rushed. Can't say I enjoyed it much. But, it does its job for anyone who wanted to shed some light on the duo. Including the mysterious ending. This episode was so-so. Last one is just everything but the kitchen sink mashed up together. Worst one. I had some high hopes for it, because it was about the best arc in the story - the company resort. In the manga, this arc was primarily about Narumi and Hirotaka - with emphasis on Narumi falling even deeper for Hirotaka during their company's organized travel to a hot spring resort. But instead of giving us adequate coverage, we only got a quickie that didn't even cover the part where they went to a festival nearby and Narumi was hit on by a bunch of thugs and had to be rescued. This episode truly was the worst. As if it wasn't bad enough, after they already cut it so short, the third episode just proceeded to spoil events that are way further down the line in the manga. Like the wedding of Kabakura and Hanako, the progression of Naoya and Kou's relationship and Hirotaka going out with Narumi to vacations. They probably put all of that together because they know Wotakoi won't receive more anime adaptations.
A nice ending for Wotakoi. This shows the origins of the green haired girl and the orange haired boys origin of their love story. The first and third episodes were really nice. Second one misses the mark. I gave Ep. 1 a 3/3 2nd Ep. a 0/33rd Ep. a 3/3 And synergy of them all a 0/1 cuz of that 2nd episode So totally a 6/10 OP same and animation style same so it wasn't too bad. 6/10 could use a lot more content and while Kou's story is somewhat complete the rest of the stories are left hanging.
