Should have titled it Unrequited Love, the Manga. If you're a fan of cliche shoujo manga, like me, then you'll probably have seen every trick in the book. (Or, manga, I guess.) If you're that person, it'd be fine to skip this. It's very predictable, and that's fine, but it's also a longer read, which makes the cliches even more tedious to get through. Worse than that, they repeat the same cliche to a fault. Characters are pretty dynamic, but the main-protagonist is flat, being a super typical shoujo heroine, and conflicts feel recycled, failing to make much of an impact. Specifically, the whole "unrequited love"cliche happened to like 5 different people, like a chain of love sick homies. (Man, that sucks.) Seeing this pattern arise makes reading this story tedious. [Sidenote: Since this is a peeve of mine.] The 3 leading love interests treat our protagonist, Shimana, like a sort of trophy to be passed on for most of the manga, completely disregarding how she felt continuously. [Maybe you care about details like this. I do when it's shown so bluntly.] I think romances in manga are only as good as the obstacles the couples overcome. How much I like the protagonist affects my reading experience heavily too. The premise in the beginning was intriguing and it lead me to believe I was going to be following every character's journey in finding their higher purpose, fulfillment, becoming more layered characters that have interests other than who they're crushing on. (Ex: Kyoko's Skip Beat, Yona's Akatsuki No Yona) And, (sorta spoiler), in the end, the main protagonist never really finds a career or dream for herself. Other than this, its strong points are nice art and mostly lovable characters. (6/10) If you found yourself agreeing to some of these statements, maybe it would be fine to skip this one. It wasn't terrible, like I'm making it seem, but it was super average. Go read Orange instead.

I'll be honest, I expected a really good romance manga, once I read from the beginning. Anyways, the story to sum it up, is about a girl who runs away and finds a man sleeping on the street, who soon gives her a house to live in with two other guys. Story (4.8): It was good at first, but it felt like a roller coaster that just went up to only fall down so low. Like seriously, it had a nice premise going on but it ignores so much on the interesting parts of the story and goes on with a predictable and shallow plot.Like if you read a story about a high school girl who's trying to date someone who's an adult and against all odds they started dating, then you read this story without even knowing it. Like I said, it's predictable, you won't even need to see the next chapter to know what's going to happen. Zen deserves better than a crappy ending like this to be honest, you keep thinking that Shimana might change her mind in the end, but she doesn't, it was something that looked interesting and what almost everyone wanted but the Author probably thought to herself/himself (LOL Nah, **** you guys, just going to give you a boring and predictable couple instead). P.s Muirma and Shiho had a better story going on the background, that's how bad the story is, when a story that's barely 10 pages long overall though the whole series is more interesting than the main plot itself. Art (8.4): That's something I'll give some praise for honestly, at first the art looked weird, because I never saw anything in its kind before, but it grew on me on the next four chapters. If you're going to read this story (God knows I won't again) then atleast give the art a chance, because its starts to grow on you also and only then you'll see how great the art is. Not super great, but the only the manga had going and that's actually unique. Characters (2.1): This is something that the story felt very flat on, it had very good characters but the manga did no justice to any of them. We didn't get to know anything about Shimana much, we don't know who her friends are exactly, Zen is only known to be that one dude who likes pandas and draw comics, Taiga is barely known also with almost no background at all, and it just goes on. You know the story did bad when the reader only knows the names of the characters but nothing else. I wanted to know more about these characters, but at the end of the story it's like the author expects you to be happy about the climax with no in-depth at all. So yes, could've been a 8 or maybe a 9 if the author did some justice with the cast it had going on, but no, who needs background or details of the character you're trying to get invested into. By the way, some of the supporting or minor characters in this story seemed more interesting than the main cast itself which is sad itself. Enjoyment (3.3): It was enjoying at first for the first 20 chapters, because you expect to see a great ending with the story it was telling, but no, it's torture to keep yourself going trying to get a perfect plot change that will help twist the angle the story it had going, but again no, it's like mining for gold to only get dirt, even if you keep mining farther, all you're going to get is dirt. It's my opinion honestly, I thought Shimana should've changed her love interest in the middle of the story where the plot still had its charm, and was also hoping that Taiga looked at the girls that were more interesting than Shimana herself. Overall (4.7): God it was terrible with how it ended, I don't know how many times I'll say it, but it started so good! The premise was there! The couple we all wanted to see was there too! Why did you go with a couple that almost no one wants to see! Why! Who! Where! and When!?!?! That's all I got to say, I'll advise you to stay away from this manga, do not trust the people who gave this a 6 or above, because those ratings are criminal for this type of manga. If you want to read a manga that's just predictable or have a Adult-Teen relationship, then go ahead, this manga is just for you, because this manga was definitely not for me, but if you want to read a good romance manga, then stay away like I said, don't even look, touch, smell, hear, or think about reading this manga, because it's not good. However this is all my opinion, maybe you'll get a ten out of this crap. ~Shaney

Unpredictable storyline results in no chemistry. At first I was confused about how it was going to turn out. The heroine´s feelings fluctuate and change rapidly. As I previously mentioned, I couldn´t sense any chemistry between the heroine and the main lead. He is very monotone, I didn´t see any emotions in him and throughout the manga it got to another extreme - his facial expressions very almost too wild and it yet again, put me off. I just couldn´t bring myself to like him. However, I liked the fact that at first I couldn´t predict the heroine´s choice. Like I got really curious, so at leastit´s not cliché. Overall I recommend this manga, because of its art and cute encouraging moments about dreaming, but don´t have too high expectations. There are times when you might get bored, because the story focuses on irrelevant characters. It also didn´t have much action either.

Story: 7 The story here is standard shoujo fare, girl finds herself in the unpredictable situation where she must stay in a house full of boys. She finds herself falling in love with one of the boys, and the manga primarily deals with her relationships, and about them finding and following their respective dreams in the face of opposition. All very generic stuff. The characters are all interconnected, and if you've read enough shoujo manga, there is truly nothing that will surprise you here. Some moments are positively cringeworthy, but these are few and far between what is a pretty heartwarming story despite it's unoriginality thanks tothe natural pacing of the relationship progress. Art: 9 The style is very unique, it's far more realistic looking in terms of proportions relative to most shoujo manga, but it has an inky/ scratchy almost edgy feel to it, emphasizing the over the top nature of the characters, and allowing for the more snarky aspects of its humour to positively shine. The facial expressions in this are some of the best I have come across in shoujo manga, they are varied, over the top, and absolutely hilarious. Panels are also used to their full potential here, where placement and repetition along with other small details really help with the humour and overall mood being created. The designs themselves are also very detailed, character designs are outfitted with accessories and makeup that is specific to their personality and blood related characters also look similar, without making all the characters difficult to distinguish from each other. Backgrounds for the most part here are done well enough; a fair bit of texture is sprinkled around, and the world is very convincingly presented. Character: 8 The characters here are what primarily drives the story and what makes this manga unique and recommended. They all have their own memorable quirks which are brought up and developed throughout the story, but they each also have their own distinct personalities, with development that goes beyond labelling them as the smart one, the cool one etc. They all have their pros and cons, but they still all remain very likeable, an impressive feat in comparison to similar "living together" type manga. The female lead, Shimana, is quite childish, but inherently relatable off the bat. She is outspoken, a little selfish, quite sarcastic, all in all a really well rounded shoujo female lead, something quite rare for the genre. She does tend to suffer from some of that extreme romantic idealism that is inherent in most shoujo, but it's quite toned down and pretty rare. Enjoyment: 9 This manga is funny. Extremely so. It's one of the few shoujo that I have read which has the honour of having made me actually burst out guffawing, and multiple times at that. Incredibly snarky humour, varied and well developed characters, and inspired caricatures really push this as one of the better shoujo manga out there despite its predictable plot, which is still quite cute in a loveable rom-com way as well.
