I hate to say it, but this was a great romance manga. I personally don't enjoy reading romance manga, but the story had me hooked, the art was flawless, the character development was to die for. I'm so happy I got to read this series and I even took some dating tips away from it. Try to be more like Riku! The love that unfolded, the little side characters that appeared, every tiny detail the writers and artists placed in these 12 novels made me fall even deeper in love with the story. The side stories were amazing, the little fillers and the development of even theside characters were amazing.
Short Cake Cake is a cute manga you can easily read to pass your time. It starts off decent, with a cute protagonist, and honestly, that was enough for me. I think it's just a personal thing, but I didn't really like the way the characters developed. I think they just changed too much from the ones I fell in love with at first (including the art, I miss the early design for Ten). However, I kept reading bc I still really loved MC. In the end, I did quite like the reconciliation arc. Maybe you'll like the story more than I did, so I think it'sstill worth giving Short Cake Cake a try if you haven't.
Every day, Ten Serizawa boards the 6:00 a.m. bus and travels two long hours to get to school. She is perfectly content with her decision to commute from home, even though there is a boarding house just seven minutes away from her school. However, it also means that Ten can never spend enough time with her friends after school. Ten does not mind missing out on all the fun until one day, her friend Ageha Haruna brings her to the boarding house that she has been living at. What Ten does not expect is the fluttery excitement that comes with sharing a space with one's schoolmates. As the day progresses, her resolve wavers and she finds herself second-guessing her living arrangements. Just when she is struggling with her dilemma, a couple of strange encounters with the solemn Chiaki Kasedera and the casual Riku Mikuhara ultimately lead Ten to a realization—she cannot wait to try living in the boarding house. tldr - This manga is good but there is actually no plot. Like I feel so disconnected from the characters and the story. ______ Anyways, it's really cute and the art is good (it's like the default romance one); character designs are strange at times but the main 2 are really good-looking imo. Everyone else varies or concerns me (ex: Ageha???). Random: Shortcake Cake has SUCH a good epilogue? I'm assuming they're not allowed to do anything even sort of explicit but the epilogue is super satisfying. It's not perfect; it suffers from the same storytelling faults that the entire manga does. However, it's fluffy andcute. That's a good summary of the entire manga: story is bad but art is cute. note: This is a love triangle, and it's a love triangle from the POV of the two guys. So for a while, you really don't know who she ends up with. If that floats your boat.
This was pretty amazing imo..I wasn't expecting so much from it but because it's from the same author as a sign of affection I read it and it was an emotional rollercoaster. It's not just a love story actually it is a journey of forgiveness and acceptance .. I really hate love triangles that is the reason I put the manga on to read for so long but I am glad I read it ..they didn't complicate things actually with the love interests and everyone was happy with what they got ... All the characters are likable and their actions are understandable .. overall itwon't be a waste to read it.. I might actually reread it in the future..
