This is a masterpiece created by god. I never seen a manga as beautiful as this. This manga have everything you need. You want harem? there's harem. You want comedy? There's comedy. You want romance? there's romance. you want action? There's action. You want cheerful loli? There's cheerful loli. You want shy loli? There's shy loli. You want tsundere oppai? there's tsundere oppai. The angle of view during a fight scene is spectacular and the plot twist is amazing too. Basically this manga has all the things you need and every single details are beautifully drawn. It just sad that this manga endedbut I hope they are going to make an anime adaptation of this manga
At a young age, a part of Chiaki Mikado's soul was bitten away by a peculiar dog with three heads. Unable to feel happiness and joy as a result, he lives his days deprived of positive emotions, faking smiles when the situation calls for it. Eight years later, his father sends him a box from Greece. Inside it is a girl with three forms and personalities: Kuro, Shirogane, and Roze. With the form of Kuro, she tells him that she will be Chiaki's guard dog. The girl reveals that she actually is the guardian of the Gates of Hadesâthe Cerberusâand is the same creature that tore his soul. But this time around, she will help Chiaki smile again. However, this task is no small feat. Due to the missing piece of his soul, Chiaki is a magnet for fiends and wicked spirits. Meeting rivals, friends, and foes along the way, Chiaki perseveres to regain one of the most important things to being humanâthe capability to feel. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Now, my rating may look confusing and there is a single reason, the ending, it plain and simply sucks utterly. There is no other way too say that, the manga is really enjoyable but I am a person that dislikes the whole story if the ending is utterly shit because it ruins everything that came before as well. Now, others probably dissagree with me but I do not care, if you write such a light hearted romantic harem story, the story should either end with an actual harem ending or the author should make sure to not write all the chicks as likable charas onlyto have most of them miserable at the end. Because that is exactly what happens in this manga at the end, all 5 are really likable but in the end 4 of them get a pure bad ending.
As this is my first review on this site, please go easy on me. I'll also try to be as spoiler-free as possible. To be frank, I've quite enjoyed it. The setting was nice, yet could have been better. I'll boil it down later on. The characters, especially the girls, were cute, especially the Cerberus trio. Story - 8 The ending COULD HAVE been better if it weren't for the major plotholes in the last chapter. Literally the only thing I liked there were the confessions, but I'm sad how the protagonist just outright put them down with a simple apologetic phrase. Then just that. Kuro suddenly transformsinto a human with no concrete explanation given how and why after 2 weeks of her disappearance. lol how could she have survived in that dimension I wonder. Anyhow, the rest of the story was good enough for me. Art - 8 At most parts, the art gets good. There are times that perhaps some may have not even noticed, or have probably just overlooked it, that it gets all wobbly. Not that it matters at this point as it's already a finished piece of work. Though, I gotta admit the action scenes were decent enough at its own way of being presented. It's real easy to follow. Characters - 7 The characters, eh, not so good. All the credit however goes to the Cerberus trio. The others were just a nuisance. Haruna might be an exception, also Idora. Anyhow, back with what I was talking about. First off, Kuro. She was introduced to be the Cerberus sent by the protagonist's father from Greece, which I needed an explanation on how he's even gotten his hands on such a creature. And of course, she has to be the airheaded type. Despite her cuteness, her idiocy may not make up for what she had been doing until she was shown to possess a dark power. The reason being the emotions created by the first cerberus, Roze. I'll get to her later. Shirogane, is the tsundere type. She LITERALLY was the only character in the series I've seen develop so much after she had realized her true feelings for Chiaki. She kept on denying that, as she's a tsundere after all. She's the only tolerable tsundere I've encountered so far. Although there were some points where she has to excuse her emotions over something like her existence serving the purpose of Roze's feelings, as Roze created them for the sake of her well-being. That part of her kinda ticked me off a little bit, but she fills that in with touches of her cuteness. Lastly, Roze. As I've stated in my previous sentences, she was responsible of creating Kuro and Shirogane as means of emotionally balancing her. As stated in some parts of the manga, she is known to be very shy and is not good with people, but further on she has managed to develop herself simultaneously closing the gaps between her relationship with Chiaki. The thing about her past that was shown in a certain arc of the manga (where they ventured the depths of the underworld) was quite unnecessary, for in my opinion her reason of creating the two heads as she's claimed to be the "original cerberus" was only there to support her weaknesses. I'm not going to go into detail with Komone, as her only role there is to be that one girl in class who can't fulfill her love for a guy she strangely developed feelings for despite her failures. Glad she managed to cope up with herself till the end, honestly. Minnie deserved to be thrown in the trash. Her mere presence was completely insignificant, as she just cockblocks Chiaki in his good moments with the other girls. Enjoyment - 9 Yes, I've enjoyed it to my heart's content. Regardless of what I said about the characters, the overall read was a ride. Not the best series out there, however. Would've been better if the author timed the events right. The last chapter felt rushed too, but whatever. It's already done. Overall - 8 It was a fun read. I wish I can say more about the last chapter but I would just be spoiling how the story would end. Nevertheless, I loved the characters at most. There were just certain points I can't even comprehend, like how a powerless run-of-the-mill protagonist was even capable of surviving throughout the whole ordeal just to experience fun and smile. Let's be real though, he got some development despite all of that. (sorry if I haven't made anything clear in case you don't get my standpoint) That's all I have to offer. Thanks for reading my review. It was a pleasure.
First of all, im going to do this review in English, even if im from Spain. If anyone wants a Spanish review just talk to me. Second, this is my first review, so be gentle ~KYOU NO CERBERUS | OUT OF SPOILERS~ ÂżWhatÂŽs Kyou no Cerberus? ÂżWhy should I watch it? Basically, Kyou no Cerberus its a original manga, where we have 3 in 1 girl, fights, comedy and a lot of embarrasing moments, with a half-soul human, Mikado Chiaki. The Cerberus: We have Roze, a cute, very cute, EXTREMELY CUTE kuudere ( Search Kuudere if you dont know what it means ) #TeamRoze We have Kuro, a full of joyl, everytime having fun and smiling. Its basically the Standar Waifu And the last one of the Cerberus, Shirogane, a strong girl and...a Tsundere, of course. Its always a Tsundere, just like in other mangas or animes. If you want to know why Chiaki cant smile anymore, and how he reach his perfect smile while fall in love, you must read this awesome manga
tl;dr: A pretty generic harem manga thatâs just okay in terms of everything. This manga is about a high school student named Chiaki who simply doesnât have the ability to feel joy. It turns out that this is due to Cerberus, the guard dog of the underworld, eating a piece of his soul while he was a kid. However, Cerberus has come to make amends and do her best to help Chiakiâs soul recover. It should be noted that while Cerberus can take the form of a three headed dog, she is generally a teenage girl, or rather three teenage girls all sharing the same body. Each of these girls seem to embody a common type of dog, with Kuro being the energetic and playful type, Shirogane being like a guard dog, and Roze being the loving type. However, none of them really know how to actually fix him, so the manga is mostly just Chiaki and the trio hanging out and trying to have fun, while getting wrapped up in various sorts of supernatural events. Overall, I felt the manga had a decent set of concepts, but there was nothing all that original and the execution wasnât very good either. The main cast are all decent enough characters so theyâre somewhat likable, but they donât really have strong enough backgrounds or personalities to be all that memorable. They all have character arcs that are decent enough conceptually but theyâre not very well written and thus any emotional moments related to them donât really land all that well. In terms of romance, there are a few good moments, but overall romantic development is pretty weak and thereâs really not any romantic fluff at all. As such, itâs hard to get all that invested in the relationships and thus the heavier associated beats donât really have much impact. Thereâs also a broader âgroup of friendsâ dynamic beyond just the love polygon centered around the protagonist, but the friendship aspect wasnât really well developed either. Thereâs a decent amount of comedy, but itâs not enough in terms of quantity or quality for this to work as a comedy manga. Thereâs also a decent amount of action, but thatâs also not at the necessary level in terms of quantity or quality for this to work as an action manga. There are some overarching plot threads and some world building thatâs interesting, but overall things arenât really fleshed out all that well and the explanations for pretty much everything are lacking, so most everything plot wise that happens just feels really random. Iâve heard people complain that people that enjoyed the rest of the manga didnât like the ending, but I donât really get that. I certainly donât think itâs a great ending but itâs pretty consistent with the rest of the manga: random plot twists and writing that takes itself far too seriously for the story being told. The art is decent enough though the style is somewhat plain. Similarly, the character designs are decent enough, but not particularly stand out. Also, despite this being a harem manga it is not really ecchi at all for whatever thatâs worth.
