Red Lion

This was a wonderful story. It had a very simple plot to follow, and had a mazing character development. I think that anyone who is looking for a medium length manhwa, involving an innocent first love but also a hefty dose of action and suspense will love this. It is very beautifully drawn (the scanlation is very good) and every single page will leave you wanting to know how things will play out. Highly recommended!!

I like it when the girl is in charge of the relationship. It's not to short or too long. It doesn't drag at all. There isn't anything too shocking to make you stop reading in disbelief. It flows well from each scene. Definitely good!!! I recommend this.

Cause you might get bored. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So I read Red Lion just now and since I can neither agree with the existing reviews nor disagree I decided to write my own. I haven't read much manhwa up till now so this might be just my imagination but I believe that those labelled with Romance & Shoujo tend to have a lot of similarities. But I don't think that that's something bad. You usually get a head-strong female lead, in this case it's a fist-strong one aswell~&I like that kinda Character. The Story wasn't outstanding but nice. I basically got what I expected, a kidnapping here a fight there and some love triangle in the middle. The story doesn't especially focus on one of those aspects so you don't get bored even if they repeat. A real strong point for this manhwa is definitely that it's short(er than other manhwas of that sort). I hope that's not to much of a spoiler.... The Characters are usual but likeable. They ain't extraordinary, they probably won't leave a deep impression on you and some of them have -uhm--- to less appearance? They could have been worked out way better then they were but I suppose it would have stretched the whole manhwa. So it's fine this way. I won't judge the Art. I mean I personally do, but I won't do it for the review because that's something waaaayyyy to subjective to describe &there are people who tend to say that the Art is the most important part - but I don't think so. So lets leave that be. The Enjoyment. Well I enjoyed Red Lion pretty much because I like strong female leads & gang fights. If you're not a picky reader you'll be able to enjoy the manwha. Though if you just read some of the same 'plot-style' you'll be probably bored. I think they should add something like "Ending" aswell. (Or instead of the Art section) Because the Endings are something important. In this case it felt a bit off. But I guess explaining what I mean would risk a huge spoiler... Ah! That's why we don't have a Ending section --- I see. Duhu~ that's it. I liked it~ especially the nickname. "Red Lion" sounds good. Thanks for reading.

This was ... not good. I'm on something of a reread spree right now, going back to several manga that I enjoyed when I was younger. I have actually reread this one a few times, but not recently. Boy oh boy, should I have left this one as a fond memory. My main thought that I wanted to record in this review is that actually, nostalgia goggles don't cover everything. I had previously thought, as I return to formerly beloved-by-me stories, that I was so incredibly biased to be positive towards any media I had encountered when I was younger. This is because I tend to,at the bare minimum, enjoy the works I return to, if not outright love them. It turns out that instead of blaming the nostalgia goggles, it's possible that most of what I remember fondly was just good enough to be remembered, so there's something of a quality filter in place as I rediscover stuff. I think the main reason I remembered enough about Red Lion to find it again after so many years was simply that the main character was a red head. As a red head myself, I tended to favor such protagonists as a kid. This main character was particularly unique as a strong female protagonist, both mentally and physically, who also had red hair. It's admittedly shallow of younger me, but I think if the hair color was a non-factor, I would have forgotten this manwha entirely. In terms of describing what exactly is bad about it, I'll just say I find it incredibly tiring. I was frequently rolling my eyes at the plot, shaking my head at character decisions, and cringing at the art. There is a particular suspension of disbelief that I am not capable of, when it comes to how these characters act and particular repetitive plot elements. I don't mean to be mean, of course, it's not all bad. This manwha is older at this point, and I'm sure everyone who worked on it has improved exponentially their storytelling and art skills since its publication.
