I'm normally a fan of Go Ikeyamada (Get Love, Moe Kare). And this one has the same clean, crisp shoujo artwork and likable main characters that I have come to expect from her work. But the plot line here is just atrocious. A girl transfers to a school, which is an all-boys school, making her the only girl in school. This is a school, apparently, where the teachers allow students to get away with anything short of murder in the hallways. She meets a childhood friend who used to protect her from bullies. He spends the rest of the manga beatingup the rest of the school, because they spend the rest of the manga trying to rape the girl. Did I mention that this is supposed to be a comedy? Someday, someone will have to explain to me the humor in rape. Also included here are two one-shots; they are cute, but forgettable.
Honda Moe just transferred to Todo Gakuen, but no one bothered telling her she'd be the only girl student! Lucky for her, Himuro Kyo, her childhood playmate, is also in her class. But why's he being such a jerk and pretending he doesn't know her? Moe's gotta be creative and use her wits if she wants to survive the new schoolyear with her virtue intact. Who's gonna protect the lone princess, from a school full of wolves? (Source: Condensation) This one-shot volume also includes two extra stories.
For reference, this is the 2nd manga of Ikeyamada Go that I have read. I like Ikeyamada Go as an artist but her stories are terrible. The girls always have the same personality and rape is always a theme and it's used for comic relief and as a plot device for the main guy to be manly, protective and loving. It's atrocious and disgusting. There's nothing funny about rape and her approach to it is sickening. These type of works shouldn't be available for younger audiences because it tries to minimize the seriousness of what rape is and does to the victims. I like artstyle of the panels but that's the only positive thing in this short manga. It's a 3/10 from me.
