Burst Angel is, in short, a typical fan-service shounen that offers up fast action, pretty visuals, and an average storyline, at best. The main characters seem a little hollow, as they have no means of developement whatsoever. The plot is pretty linear and the story itself doesn't really move the story. The art on the other hand, is good. The action scenes are drawn to life with excellent feeling and perception. Each bullet seems to take on a life of its own. This is also where the fanservice comes in. The two main characters, being female, are wonderfully drawn. To be honest, it was thebiggest selling point of the series for me. All in all, Burst Angel is worth reading if you're looking for an actiony story, a little bit of "sexy", and a tad bit of drama thrown in. Story: 6 Art: 9 Character: 5 Enjoyment: 7 Overall: 6
Meet Takeru, an ordinary boy who's always bullied because of his lack of self-confidence. What will happen when one day two mysterious girls show up in his room seeking shelter from a group of blood-thirsty thugs? Discover the changes in Takeru's life after meeting two girls that are definitely more than what meets the eye in Bakuretsu Tenshi. (Source: MU)
I really like the art work here. Artist Minoru Murao draws great action sequences and hot looking girls. I'm not sure where the whole Hot Lesbian Women Battle Malevolent Forces thing started, but this is as good an example of the genre as any. I think the story by itself might be as skimpy as the girl's outfits, but as a prelude to the Anime, it works really well, filling in some of the back story of the characters. The art alone is worth the price of admission though. Lots of cleavage and lots of tech. Really, what more does one need?
