It's a short 5 chapter manga, which I think isn't cool. However, that doesn't change the fact that this story, aside from the summary. You should know that it just revolves around the fact that although he made a mistake getting her pregnant, he's looking at how it changed his life for the better instead of the good. I can't say much without giving the whole 5 chapters away, since it's a very short manga. I can say that you get really attached to the characters. I for sure love Kurumi, she's young, yet mysterious and naive to what loveis. I would love for this to be a simple OVA, but we'll see, most likely not.
First off, the art didn't really tickle my fancy - more sketchy looking than I usually like - but it was pretty endearing once I got used to it. This manga is really short, but I feel that a lot of feeling and thought was put into it, really bringing it to life! One thing that really intrigued me was that usually, these stories about teen pregnancy are told from the girl's point of view and focus more on whether or not she will abort. This manga, however, was told from the man's point of view. We get to see his fears, hisregrets, and how he emotionally processes becoming a father and deals with parenthood and the relationship with his wife. The character development was great. This manga isn't exactly light. There isn't any smut/sex scenes (I actually appreciate not having that), but it does show families falling apart and falling together, the value of life, taking responsibility for mistakes, and learning to be a parent. The mangaka handled all this in a very realistic and mature way, I think. Overall, one of the best mangas about pregnancy and new parents that I have read in a while. I think it will be memorable for the people who read it.
I have no idea what this manga is trying to do. I was expecting a story simply about how the two try to live happily after an accidental pregnancy in a manga of this length, but there's clearly a lot deeper issues than that that don't get addressed. For one, didn't the teacher force himself on the student in their initial sexual encounter? She kept saying "no..." Another problem is that the student also seems to be deeply psychologically troubled even before that. She thinks a child would be the meaning of her life, so she kept pestering the sensei like the usual sexually assertive student of ateacher/student romance would do and then gets scared when he makes advances which is kind of disturbing. Then when she does get pregnant, it was never clear why she never got an abortion. Was she pressured into not getting it or not? The narrative includes many scenes where she misses high school life, which makes no sense if she's simultaneously also an edgy disturbed outcast. It's just... weird.
