"I have lived as a human, and will die as a human." I can't begin to explain how emotionally deep this Manga is.. yet at the same time lighthearted. When you start this manga it will introduce you to a mysterious post-apocalyptic world leaving you with 1000 questions, as you dive deeper you will understand how much of a rare gem this Manga is. Don't mind the "rapping" lol, it's cute and enjoyable. Anyways if I continue I may start spoiling the story so all I can say is give it a try, its not that long either so please do read it.
This manga came to me at the very right moment in my life. It was at the early time of the pandemic in 2020, when I hit a rock bottom in my life. I was ultimately depressed at the time due to my real-life problems, but this manga........man.......it hit different........ I remember I would turn off the light in my room and switch on my space projector and point it onto my wall, then I would play a space ambient music in yt and began reading the manga. It is a very emotional manga but at the same time, the author managed to implement manybizarre stuffs here and there that make the manga somewhat really fun to read. And the philosophy in this manga is entirely spot on and easy to understand, making it a chilled out and fun philosophical manga. And I decide to declare that this is one of the best manga I have ever read in my entire life, a true hidden gem. This manga changed me as a person and I am glad that it was there during my darkest hours. Thank you for reading.
The story of two immortal children, beginning at the time in which everything has ended. The innocent older sister Pi that loves to rap, and the introverted younger brother Makki that you can always find reading alone. (Source: Kadokawa, translated)
Well... It's been such an emotional trip. It's hard for me to explain in words what this manga made me feel. It came in the right moment of my life, and it helped me to realize things about life itself. The story, as you may have read in the summary, is about two childs who're immortal. The author uses this concept, to talk about life cycles. And how everything in this world is perfect the way it is, and immortality it's not as utopic as it may seem. It's a story filled with strong emotions that had reached my heart. It's about accepting growing up, and finally, perishing as a part of life itself. You don't have to be afraid of dying, or growing up; it's something natural, that doesn't need to be changed. The beauty of life resides in its ephemeral nature. If we had all the time in the world, we wouldn't appreciate things the way they deserve to be. We weren't made for living ethernal lives. You have to live every moment fully: spend your time with your loved ones, enjoying the things you like, and appreciate those moments, because they will relentlessly end one day. And knowing that, you can appreciate better the time with your family, your pets, or your time in this life, because it's ephemeral, and that's what makes us enjoy that time better. Go give your mother or your father a hug, spend your time with them; give love to your pets, your girlfriend or boyfriend, because they will not be in this world forever, and neither will you. When a new life borns, is something beautiful, this manga portrayes that. And it made me see it that way. It's somewhat an optimistic way of thinking, that it's not how I usually think: but it managed to convey those emotions to me: that's why I gave this manga such a high score. Not because its story itself, or the characters: it's because the message it evokes. There might be things I'm forgetting right now (I read this some time ago, but because of the absence of reviews, I wanted to make one). If you're someone who dreams with an ethernal life, you fear death or growing up, this might be the story for you. Thank you for reading, and have a good day.
I am really crying while writing this review. I am not an emotional person. I rarely cry. I only cried two times while reading a manga and those two are in my favorites (unless crying two times is a lot). This manga gets and absolutely deserves to be the third one on my list. Abso-fucking-lutely beautiful Lets dive into the story. What it is even about? Its discovers on the theme of immortality and mortality. How it feels to be immortal. How time swiftly passes away like sand grains through the grasp of your hands. Or when you are mortal, what does it feel like. Whatdoes a mortal feels about immortality and immortal feels about mortality? I will leave it till here. Characters 10/10 Really, really got attached to them. I felt for them, whether it be happiness or sadness. They were the heart and soul of this Beautiful art. Its simplistic. Doesn't try to be detailed nor it needs to be. Extremely clean. Conveys emotion like electricity through metal, extremely well. Just is perfect the way it is. Just read this man. You will not regret.
wow. I am familiar with the author by a questionable work, in which main character did.... an act to a dog. even though that manga was really messed up I felt like the author was not just some weird perverted guy, even in that manga author managed to make me feel something so I knew that there was a chance that this story of his which is his highest rated would be good, but I didn't expect how good it would be. Characters: I really feel like somehow while the story has only 4 characters all four are really really strong. I was very attached tothem and was always thinking about their future because the premice of immortal children always makes you ask questions and what we got from that were tears:(((( Art: art was very fitting, it was not the greatest thing you will find, but I doubt that you can find art which fits this manga better than what we got. Story: at first glance it might seem like a default story about immortal people, but author takes this simple plot and doesn't add anything crazy to it, but mangaes to squeeze everything you need out of every chapter, leaving no cold feelings or thoughts like something maybe could be done better. Enjoyment: it was an extremely easy read, I just sat and finished all of it in like an hour, I am an extremely slow reader so to me it is an achievement, but I believe that someone who is better at reading than me can do it in half an hour even though it is 2 volumes. Overall: really solid, I will not start overdoing things and saying it is a masterpiece or something, of course it is not. It is just a great read which will be in your thoughts for some time, it is an emotional ride which gives you everything it can in only 16 or so chapters. You really grow attached to characters and their tragic fates and I can't really say what I didn't like about the story, it was not some extremely intense story with top tier characters or anything, but it was everything it wanted to be and it didn't miss anything and for that I really feel like this story deserves to be read at least once and I am really glad that I have read such a warm and tragic story such as, For Immortal Children In The Galaxy.
