What Does the Fox Say?

As a lesbian, I really really appreciate the depth the author applied to the characters. I really loved the art and the realistic sex (no fucking scissoring or stereotypes) I also really liked how all the characters kind of had a story, even the antagonist. I read it in about two weeks and once I started I just couldn't stop. The story can be a bit soft at times, as it centers around continuous mistakes you wish they'd learn from, but at the same time, it was really enjoyable. The sex scenes were good and I loved the romantic moments between the two characters.

Despite the weird name it´s a show about various characters, their affairs, their pasts and how they interact with each other. Well at first I wanna say this series, no matter if you come to like or hate it, certainly does add a lot of value to the colourful world of yuri. Since we are cursed with stuff like anime episodes that are only between 4~10mins long. Or the fact that a lot of yuri mangas are either oneshots, or damn short. We can be happy that this manhwa has a beautiful number of 93 chapters waiting to be read. And that will take some of your time. Credit for that! I like the fact that for once it´s not a highschool themed read of adoloscent teenagers. Instead the manhwa starts with our blondie mc during her first workday at a new company. From there we will see many things, from hot and wet sex scenes, to endearing and heartwarming kisses, to young flowers that sometimes blossom, sometimes wither. This read does not have your typical slice of lifer-ish elements where we see our cute mc´s doing cute things. No, it´s really all about the relationships and the interactions between our characters. I wanna add that there is still a bit of humour here and there. You will get to know the siscon couple and they are absoloutely hilarious and adorable. What I like too is, that on one hand we get to see a very pure and affectionate kind of love and on the other hand a very toxic relationship with its lewdness and drama. It can be heartwarming and charming at times, but on the flipside very hot and erotic. The art is beautiful and refreshing since it´s not your typical manga art and more of a comic style, however the first few chapters irritated me. I needed to get used to it. Some of the characters look way to perfect and unrealistic. Barbie and Ken is what instantly came to my mind. But all in all it looks appealing. It´s coloured and the passionately drawed sex scenes benefit a lot from it. A big part while reading are the pasts of certain characters. The flashbacks take up a lot of pages and can be quite confusing at times. The translation isn´t the best either. Unfortunate. As a result I found myself often „flipping“ back and forth between the pages and rereading passages. This can be tiresome and there is also a share of drama that sometimes feels uncalled for and forced, however in the long run I would say it was a good read. It didn´t score a homerun for me, but it was definitely worth my time and a good journey with ups and downs. Like a rollercoaster. I also wanna add that it left me with some food for thought after the finish and that´s always a good thing. Well deserved 8 from me! # # # Notes and Tipps # # # # The translation sucks, thank you for doing it Translator-san, yet still I wished it was a little bit more professional! # I often wondered why X did Z, maybe the translation left things out idk. # When you read keep in mind: Black frame past, White frame present. # Names are weird and change sometimes: sungji, or seongji, or sung-ji... # One of the characters gets called Team Leader all the time, which is weird considering she is called like that by her lover while laying by her side, naked on a rainy sunday afternoon. Prob bad translation. # Maybe in the korean original the meaning of team leader is something similar like when the japs say senpai or sensei to someone.

I went into this story with some high expectations after having been recommended this story as a mature story about relationships. I’m not sure I can agree with that assessment. If anything, the story is dominated by sexual scenes that does not add that much to the story and I find the development of the characters to be somewhat lacking. The core of the story is about the relationship between Seong Sumin and Baek Seju. Their past and breakup dominates the story, and we are bombarded with, lewd, flashback scenes about their past. So, whether or not you will enjoy the story comes down tohow you feel about their relationship. I wasn’t so engaged in their story and got sick of the constant flashbacks about their relationship. I get that they both can’t let get of the trauma, but after 10 years you would think they would seek some psychological help. If you get engaged in their relationship, you will probably enjoy this story more then I did. I think due to the story being dominated so much by Seong Sumin and Baek Seju, the relationship between Seong Sumin and Ju Seongj is a bit underdeveloped. Ju Seongj comes off as a pushover and I would really like to have seen more about her, and her relationship with Seong Sumin. The story is after all also about how Seong Sumin and Ju Seongj end up together. For instance, Seong Sumin does very little to earn her relationship with Ju Seongj and fracks up repeatedly with very little consequence. I think for a comic that market itself as mature it would dedicate a bit more time to develop these pretty major events, but they pass by relatively quickly with little consequence. But the author sure found time to add some more lewd flashbacks. This is speculation of course. But I wonder if the author at some point changed the direction of the story, and the plan was originally that Seong Sumin and Baek Seju was going to get back together. That would explain some of the misgivings I have about the story at least. As I think the story was perfectly fine, but I just thought the execution was less than stellar, and the focus should have been more on the present, and less about the past. But all in all, the story is interesting enough, but I wish they would have spent more time on developing the story and characters and less on sex scenes.

When I saw the drawing at first, it did not appeal to me, probably because I compared it to some other manga or manhwa that I have read already. But When I got to it, this manhwa is HOT! Lots of sex and love scenes. And of course it has a story. It talks about relationships, past and present and how they deal with it. It talks about blossoming love and how to feel when you're in love and first loves. When I was reading it, I thought I was watching a Korean drama. I like how Ms Seong and her ex lover has that chemistry. Ican sense it all throughout. There is history that cannot be taken away from them and it literally is hard to forget, well of of course most of the scenes are ahem! But I also love the romance of Ms, song and sung ji, oh love, it is. What does the fox say? I gave it 10/10, because I liked it. I enjoyed it.
