Hoshi dake ga Shitteru is a very well-written soft BL story. The story is based on a chance meeting between two strangers, Sora and Kengo-san, under a starry night. After are a few other coincidental meetings, they become closer to each other. I noticed that Furuya sensei focuses on characters sharing similar interests/hobbies and this work was no exception. I appreciate sensei's effort in making sure that the relationship is based on mutual and consenting individuals; a trend lacking in the BL genre. The story also lightly touches on astronomy and stars so the dialogue was informative and interesting. It left a deep impression andI know this work is something that I will come back to.
Sora hasn't been having a great weekend. Not only did he lose his job, but now his girlfriend's left him as well. Weighed down by misery and disappointment, he stumbles upon a stranger in the park. With a stunning meteor shower above and a friendly ear to his side, the young college student is offered a brief respite from his problems. But when the stranger leans in for a kiss, Sora is left dumbstruck. Was this chance encounter just a new problem to add to the list or have the stars finally aligned in his favor? ok so i read this around a week ago, but ill try my best to remember what went down. i would really recommend this mangaka, if you enjoy a realistic twist to the massive amount of boys love story- 7 the story is nothing special. it starts off a bit blunt, which i didn't like, but it doesn't stay like that, and (thankfully) doesn't involve any rape, which you might have thought from the beginning. art- 6 i didn't actually like the art that much, it was a bit ugly to look at, but(!!!!!) that's just since i really enjoy the art in some of theother manga this mangaka has drawn. character- 8 i enjoyed the realism in the characters, they're not superficial characters, that was created by someone who most likely hasnt left their house in 2 year *cough cough* aimed enjoyment- 8 i had fun reading this, but would have liked a little more to come out of the relationship, but we can use our minds ;) overall-7 as i said, if you enjoy more realistic boy love stories, i would recommend this mangaka in general.
This is my first review⨠~Very heartwarming and relaxing manga, with a little astronomy theme. I have to say that this mangaka makes a lot of soft stories that seek to have more realism. This manga is no different, I loved it even though it wasn't perfect, I found some parts a little unnecessary, and the ending could have been better. But other than that, watching their relationship develop is really nice, with no toxic parts, and it just makes you... you know... happy. About the characters I must say that they didn't really catch my attention. Sometimes I didn't really like the attitude of the other protagonist,Kengo-san, he doesn't seem to care much about things, and doesn't show much emotion, besides being... a little impulsive. As he is the oldest, I believe that this personality fits him, but I didn't like it very much. It makes the main couple about a slightly anxious but responsible young man, and the older laid-back and carefree one. It's still very good, I highly recommend it to everyone who likes to enjoy a short story that has a lot of content, and relaxing moments. Good luck reading!!
