This is one for us. It's a story for all of us loners out there. No matter where you are, we all share some of the same challenges. I know how tough it is sometimes. While eating by yourself, you feel anxious and rush, leaving the meal without enjoying it. Buying something at a store, you feel self conscious and rush your purchase in fear of judgement for being there alone. I was expecting a light hearted comedy, and instead I learned a life lesson. It's okay to enjoy your own company, and『Ayane Ojousama wa Sanoba Bocchi ni Araserareru』really drives the point across. Ayane often encountersher self proclaimed rival Tsubasa, and their interactions as well as their differing points of view show two opposite ways of looking at a situation and together the "rivals" show us that we can be comfortable with ourselves and enjoy everyday events. It's okay to sit at a cafe alone and sip on a coffee while reading a book or simply watching the scenery. It's okay to go to the movies by yourself to watch that movie that you really want to see. It's okay to enjoy alone time. We become lost thinking about what we should be doing and we fail to enjoy the moment before us. I highly recommend this manga. Not only is it a nice and relaxing story to read, but it conveys an important message.
In her university life, Lady Ayane has begun to keep bad company, or so it seems when the butler, Shinobayashi, is tasked to investigate the truth. As Shinobayashi tails her in secret, what he finds is that the lady is inappropriately playing alone…?! (Source: MU)
tl;dr: A light manga about a girl so happy that she can make the reader feel happy, but that is incredibly repetitive with no plot. This is an episodic manga about a girl who has fun on her own and is perfectly happy doing so. The way each episode is told is from the perspective of someone watching her, often her butler, but others as well, as she completely defies their expectations and manages to have fun by herself. This is from where most of the humor arises. Plus, the art is pretty solid in that it’s cute and makes her look really happy, which is nice and actually pretty heartwarming consideringthe context and feels like a pretty strong inspiration to loners. The thing though, is that there’s no story beyond that at all with the characters all being pretty flat and simply to hold up the humor. Hence, this structure while enjoyable enough on its own, quickly gets repetitive, as it’s that exact structure for every chapter.
