It's alright. The few commonly occurring side characters had great synergy with the main couple. But most of the side characters were mainly introduced only to be forgotten for the rest of the series. Which was a shame since some of them had potential to really flesh out the main character aside from him being part of the secretly nice person with a scary face that happens to be antisocial trope (which quickly grows old). Other then that, it's typical fluff romance. It felt like it wanted to tackle some serious topics related to relationships and self-confidence but didn't commit fully to dealing with them.
I liked this manga all the way up to the ending. It's a simple story of first love between two young adults who have each avoided love until now for their own reasons. It is very wholesome and the romance is about as sweet as they come. Each of the protagonists is a thoughtful loving partner in the relationship, and they support each other and enjoy their time together fully as they have fun shared experiences and deal with some minor bumps in the road of life. There is nothing overly dramatic that happens, rather it is a largely peaceful sliceof life romance. I found it refreshing that the MCs don't hold back from showing affection to each other in the way that you usually see in Japanese romances. They freely hold hands, kiss, and yes their first sexual encounter is included in the story, in a very tasteful way. They also use the words "I love you" on more than once occasion. So nice! One downside to the story is that it does get a bit repetitive, and therefore slow, in places. It truly is paced like a slice of life. For the most part, this didn't make me want to put it down. I read the whole thing over a two day period (not constant). My only big gripe was the ending. It was very abrupt, and didn't feel like any kind of climax or payoff. It was almost as if the mangaka was told at the last minute that they were canceling the series. I won't give any details on what happens, but it felt like just another day in the life and I was disappointed to say the least.
In the 27 years of his existence, Moriya Hanazono has been treated poorly due to his naturally scary looks. Working in his family's flower shop, he spends each day happily doing what he loves, regardless of what others think of him. Moriya's life begins to change, however, when he finds college student Hiyori Suzuki hiding in the van he was using to deliver flowers for her school's beauty pageant. Providing the right advice for Hiyori's troubles, Moriya notices the young woman visiting the flower shop frequently. Unbeknownst to him, she sees something in Moriya that no one else does: that he's actually an adorable person. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
To begin, you should know that I'm not a big consumer of romance. However, this story I discovered a little by chance has completely touched me ! Through this manga directed by Saitou Ken, we follow the romance of Hanazono (27-year-old florist, he has scary facial expressions that tend to frighten his customers) and his girlfriend called Suzuki (a magnificent student looking for a job). ] * Story * [ Beginning of a classic love story : despite the devilish appearance of the main character, Suzuki falls in love with Hasano's incredible kindness and gentleness. It's both their first romantic relationship, they will spend time together to know eachother and to discover the feelings and emotions related to love. And that's all, but that's what makes the story interesting: there are no disturbing elements that would try to separate them, no love triangle, no annoying ex-girlfriends. The story is purely a love story which is aimed at make us smile and cheer up ! ] * Art * [ The drawings are correct: neither exceptional nor ugly. The drawer was able to bring out the emotions of the faces of the characters but the pages lack movement and background. ] * Characters * [ Suzuki is a classic romance girl, who cares about others. Hanazono is a bit special, he's a florist who scares people with his eyes and his smile: which is not very practical for his job... Nevertheless, he has a big heart and a sad past. It is the character that allows the work to have comic situations, it's my favorite one. There are some secondary characters who are interesting, some of these characters are quickly forgotten and other are endearing and essential to the story, I say no more ! The story made me smile as I read it. I recommend it if you want to escape from everyday life in a world of love without problems, a positive world. The 36 chapters are translated into English, go ahead and give you an opinion on the work ! ( To finish : this is my first review, be indulgent ! )
A love story between a beautiful girl and a boy with a scary face. They start dating in the first chapters on the manga and it’s continues from there. It’s easy to read fluff that might give you diabetes. No forced drama or annoying characters, only wholesomeness. Even if there’s a conflict, it’s solved within the chapter so it doesn’t annoy you. That being said, I had some parts I didn’t like. For example the brother having a sister complex and forcing her to wear a sweatshirt to cover her swimsuit. Also it’s too sweet that it’s unrealistic, they never have an argument. The mcHanazono tells the same beginning every few chapters and Hiyori who has been job hunting since the first chapter doesn’t have any improvement. It should’ve been much shorter since too many similar situations had happened and I felt like I had seen the same drawings over and over again. The art is simple and like most shoujo art. It looks nice and clean. Overall, this is a lighthearted and cute read. If you’re not in the mood for any drama and looking for feel-good romance, then you might enjoy this.
