The reason I give this manga a 6 is because the story develops very slowly and when you finally have something going on , it ends abruptly. It had alot of potential and I wish they would have continued further, but unfortunetly there is no questions answered and no development. The art also was not much of a big deal, it was not bad but not interresting. Characters were alot of fun, to bad you don't get to know them that much. The main character was original and was fun to watch and had an interresting backround. My biggest enjoyement is the main characterwho is, in my opinion very original. They also used some historical figures from 17th century France such as Louis XIII and Cardinal Richelieu , and also some fictional characters you will recognize if you are familiar with Alexandre Dumas. Honestly, I wouldn't really recomend this manga if you want a complete story with a good ending with no cliffhangers. But you can enjoy the sense of humor which was entertainning, the main character and how the story was starting to developped, but you might still be dissapointed afterwards.
Belmonde, a son of a noble father and a witch mother, was born and raised in a cloister's basement. He is the master of a underground prison and has the rights to use any means to bring out confessions from his prisoners. With his eye, he is able to see through them if they do not comply to his questions. (Source: MU) Included one-shots: Volume 2: Belmonde no Goumon Hyakkei: Belmonde Le Visiteur Volume 3: Tiger!! The Goal-d Gravi-ruler
I thought that the story was interesting and relatively unique. Although, the plot seemed to move too fast. Before a fight began it was over. Although quick it was a nice contrast to other stories with never ending fights The characters were creative, but slightly underdeveloped due to the quickness of the story. I thought the art was simple which made the story and actions easier to understand, and even though the art is simple it is still beautiful. Overall the only downfall of this manga is the hurried and incomplete ending. It would have been better if the story had been finished. It stopped in themiddle of a fight. Other then that, the characters were great, the concept was amazing, it was written well, and the art completed the whole thing.
