It was enjoyable, unfortunately, this is one of those mangas that you have to power through the beginning, but after that it was okay. The premise was interesting but nothing too intense. It's good that it's only 5 volumes because it means that you can binge it really quickly and go on. It's definitely for a very niche audience, but it was okay. Character-wise, the MC is a doormat for most of the manga, but the progression with his character was interesting. You could have guessed some of the elements from the ending almost halfway through reading it, but still, it was an ok read fora weekend.
A story about suicide, rejection and psychological issues told in a very dramatic (and, in the end, rewarding) way. After the quick introduction of the main couple, the plot revolves around problems of the main lead (Kurokawa) and mysteries surrounding the female half of the main cast (Nanjou). Right from the beginning, it grabs our attention and holds until the very end. We wanna see all mysteries revealed (like why is Nanjou making Kurokawa âinvisibleâ by just clapping her hands, which sounds like a pretending game). All these behaviors have deep psychological background of problems that Nanjou is carrying. The manga develops its characters through their daily interactions.Curiosity of Kurokawa towards Nanjou grows every second and he desperately wants to find answers to many questions he has, but she refuses to answer (like why she pretends he is invisible). It is understandable that not everyone is going to like this kind of story. The characters are behaving in a kind of unnatural way. I don't see it as a problem, since this is the way that was chosen to create a good story in a unique and special way. But I don't blame anybody who doesn't see it the same way. Still, if you decide to finish it, you are going to be rewarded with a worthy conclusion. The manga contains a lot of nudity, so be aware of that. Pretty quick and satisfying read, heavy on drama, suspense and psychological elements. You will get through it in no time, so it doesn't waste time. Pros: + story keeps us hooked until the end + character development + quick and satisfying read Cons: - mostly for those who like this kind of genre Double-edged: +/- niche appeal +/- the whole concept of "being invisible" may come about as weird +/- use of fanservice and nudity +/- many elements of writing may not appeal to a larger group of readers 9/10 (GREAT)
Kyoubei Kurokawa, university student, has an aimless life. Having run away from home to live alone he doesn't even have a place to sleep. One day, he is saved from falling off a bridge by Asumi Nanjou, a mysterious girl from the same university, that takes him to her apartment to treat his wounds. When she finds out about his situation, Nanjou decides to let him live on her house, on one condition: he'll be an invisible man. Bewildered at first, he later finds out what she meant: she'll completely ignore his existence. Meet Kurokawa and discover the advantages (and disadvantages) of being an invisible man and unravel the mysteries behind Asumi Nanjou. (Source: MU)
I enjoyed this manga... sort of. Quick words of warning to those who need them: this manga contains a couple short(ish) segments of NTR, and it mentions suicide. Art was good. I wouldn't say it was amazing or anything, but it was consistently good. The human figures in particular were very well done. If the premise sounds interesting to you... well, it's about as interesting as it sounds. I was very intrigued by the synopsis, and that aspect was definitely one of the strongest points of the manga. It's a cool idea, and it's used pretty well (although perhaps not as well as it could have been). The writingis the weakest aspect of this manga. This was, to me, the most blatantly formulaic manga I've ever read. The premise is interesting, but it was shoved into a plotline constructed entirely of cliches. There was never a moment when I wondered what would happen next, and I was surprised by exactly one piece of information. Everything else happened exactly as one might expect, or at least as I expected. There also many instances of convenient timing, ridiculous coincidences, and confused or outright absurd motives. Most of the characters are two-dimensional (I know it's a manga, shh), though the two main characters had decent character progression. Speaking of which, good god is the male MC frustrating in the beginning (the beginning in this case being over half of the manga). He's disturbingly weak-willed, he's a college student who interacts with the opposite sex as if he were a middle schooler, he can't read the atmosphere/take a hint, and he likes to whine a lot. This is unfortunate because I like and identify with his backstory, so I would have liked him a lot if he were written better. TL;DR Read this if: - you think the synopsis is interesting. - you are patient with weak, whiny male MCs. - you like naked people, particularly in a voyeuristic context. Don't read this if: - the above trigger warnings apply to you. - you have no patience for weak, whiny male MCs. - you have a problem with naked people (why are you even reading the reviews for this?). - you're looking for excellent, engaging writing.
