This short story's about Kusumi, a college students, who accidentally hits Kijima (sensei) with his bicycle. Kijima hurts his right hand, but instead of suing Kusimi for money, he lets Kusumi work for him as his sort of secretary so that he (Kusumi) could write down the dictations of sensei. The reason sensei doesn't use any app or even a computer to do this work is because he's an old fashioned guy. Kusumi, of course, is more than willing to help because of the guilt that he feels (and because he's thankful he doesn't have to shill out any money). And let's just addressthe elephant in the room first - the writer of this manga is obviously a massive Attack on Titan fan, because Kusmi looks like a taller version of Levi, while Kijima is what Jean would be if he were a bumbling mess. So now that's out of the way, let me get back to my review. The plot is a little slow in the beginning, but it soon picks up. I really liked the depth that sensei's character is shown to have (even though it may appear otherwise), and how Kusumi's feelings towards him keep increasing gradually. All in all, I liked how their 'relationship' was treated without making the manga into a hardcore yaoi. That was hands down the best part about it. Basically, if you're looking for something short and sweet, I'd recommend this manga. It's a solid 8 on 10.
Haruhiko Kazumi's life changes forever the day he rams into novelist Renjiro Kijima...with his bike. A poor college student, Haruhiko can't compensate Kijima for the accident. So, Kijima offers Haruhiko an unusual deal. Haruhiko can transcribe Kijima's latest story as he orally dictates it. Little does Haruhiko know, Kijima specializes in erotic novels. Kijima's alluring voice soon draws him into a world of sensual daydreams. (Source: Fantasista Inc.)
Be not afraid of the title, this is a very accessible work as we follow a depressed loser with no ethics that fakes being straight for his job, and as BL enjoyers with a MAL account i think we can all relate to that. Jokes aside, Maki Marikudo gives and dangerously accurate depictions of how untreated mental illness and low self-esteem issues can fuck up your life and actually turn you into the piece of shit you see in the mirror. I love me a problematic bisexual, i love me him finding a labradorish gym bro to balance him, but these 3 tomes will most of allstay with me for a long time both as a cold call-out like a glass of ice water in the face, and a gentle, judgment-free hug to remind me that life is not over despite of how the past went. Go get some help if you need it, if not for yourself, do it for the others around you. You'll make it through, ily <3
