tl;dr: A lighthearted and cute manga filled with a series of short stories about various children in a kindergarten and their teachers. This manga is really cute and amusing. It composed of a bunch of small stories without any major plot threads or character arcs. These stories feature the same characters and setting so obviously a lot of elements do carry through out, but these are generally just the basis for or in the background of the stories, and in general it’s not like the stories in the manga actually progress any of these elements. Rather, for the most part, where things are when a characteris introduced is how things stay throughout. Now that's not to say that the stories don’t have any depth, this is a manga featuring little kids so a lot of the time there would be some sort of moral they learn at the end of each story. There were also a lot of stories that while not really advancing things did help better flesh out what was already there. And also, while no overarching progress was the standard, there was a major exception which did have some progress, though really slow progress, throughout, and that the ending focused on for a reasonably satisfying conclusion. Really though, all of that’s just icing on the cake in that what really makes the substance of the manga is that it’s really cute and amusing. It’s not hilarious in that it’ll have you laughing a lot, but the adorable humor is enough to keep you smiling throughout. Furthermore, I thought it did a good job with variety and such, in that it even though from afar it looks like its repeatedly dealing with the same subject matter regarding how children behave throughout, it never felt like it was dragging on and always felt pretty well paced. The art was also pretty solid in that it was quite cute and fitting the subject matter, and I also think it improved quite a bit from around the third volume or so.
Anzu is a kindergartener with a massive crush on her teacher Tsuchida. Tsuchida clearly prefers Yamamoto, a young woman who handles the class next door, and Anzu has two gal pals to help her out: shy Koume and eccentric Hiiragi.
Now that this series is fully translated, I thought I'd write a review. Hanamaru Youchien follows the daily lives and relationships of 3 kindergarten teachers, Tsuchida, Yamamoto, and Kusano, as well as several of their students, including Anzu, Hiiragi, and Koume. As the characters do their best at the kindergarten, all kinds of funny and cute things happen and they work towards catching the attention of whoever they like, whether that's one of their coworkers, classmates, or teachers. While the plot doesn't progress very quickly, most characters are fleshed out throughout the story, and nothing feels particularly rushed. The art isconsistently high quality, and all of the students are very, very cutely drawn, no matter what they're doing. Comedy is subjective and can easily make or break a series for different people, but I thought the humor went well with the cute antics and only added to my enjoyment of the series. If you're looking for a cute, funny manga with a bit of romance, I highly recommend Hanamaru. If not, I still think it's worth a try.
I think this little series that doesn't go on too long to outstay its welcome, due to the simplistic nature of ending ( not a bad thing). Is this series a gem like Gakuen Babysitters while no, in terms of the cute factor. But is it as well comedy and a slice of life nearly as well as the Yotsuba well nope. Yotsuba is the highest standard when it comes to that type of series, however, is this a fun excellent manga yes it is. If you're reading this series for the plot, well i suggest u don't bother as they are hardly anyprogression in terms of plot. The last two-volume is the closest thing to a plot. However, this deals with the daily life of the gang 3 kindergarten teachers and a bunch of students. This is definitely a feels good manga, not to be taken too seriously but as a relaxing mood. You can pretty much read this manga at any pace as the majority of chapters have a clear beginning, middle and end ( with few exceptions near the end). The Art Well in truth they isn't a dramatic difference between art from volume 1 to v11 however the presentation as it goes on is much better. The background presentation, paneling.... are heaps better as it goes along as u can clearly recognise from volume 1 to 11. The art style itself has had minor tweaks but really the presentation which gets better as it progresses Conclusion: Is this worth reading sure but it a fun completed series. However, i can't say anything too special about this manga in particular when u compare it to Yotsuba.... That said if u enjoy slice of life manga you definitely get some kick out of this.
