I love this manga series! I feel so sad that I finished it already. :'( This manga series should be a hit for every person who loves romance/humor/action manga! It surprised me when I first started to read it. I felt so mesmerized as I read, I couldn't get the words "Tail of The Moon", out of my head ( LOL did I just rhyme there?)! Usagi and Hanzo (the one who doesn't have blond hair), are over all my most two favorite characters out of this series. Them two... show how love can be formed and not broken. It really was cool at first thatHanzou was so strict, then when he got to know Usagi better, his heart softened. It's a lot like Inuyasha in some ways. But "Tail of The Moon", is not all about romance. Like I said earlier, it has humor and action in it too; so it makes it more exciting as the story goes. This story takes place in feudal Japan (warren era, aka in the past). It goes on about this one girl who is obviously horrible when it comes to being a ninja (because she can never get out of kiddie class), so her great grandfather tells her to go marry Hanzo, Hattori and have children with him. When she gets there, Hanzou rejects her, because he's not interested in getting married. Of course the story will get better than the plot has said. I believe that this series won't die out, it's too dang good. ;)
Usagi is the granddaughter of the leader of a prestigious ninja village, but she's such a klutz that she's never made it out of the kiddie class. Frustrated with Usagi's lack of progress, her grandfather sends her to marry Lord Hanzo and have lots of ninja babies. But the lord has no interest in her or her childbearing potential! I find it pathetic how at the begging the female protagonist has to struggle just for a guy who doesn't give a crap about her and OMG it really ticked me off when he throws her out just because she didn't want to do training. Why doesn't Sara just make it clear that she doesn't feel that way about him. I just doesn't have the patience and time to just watch a girl hopelessly try to show her love. The beginning was a really downer for me. Overall I don't this is a bad manga it's just not a manga suited for people like me.
Story - 8 Tail of the moon is about a girl named Usagi who is unable to do rigorious excercies. Her great grandfather decided that the one task she was able to do was become the bride-elect of Hanzo and marry him. The story is more of the romantic type but it also includes a bit of adventure and humor. The story progresses at a steady pace and it will keep you hooked till the very end. It seems very simple and non-creative at the beginning but as the story progresses it gets more complicating and interesting. The plot line does a eally great job athidding the intention of the characters motives. You never know how the story is going to turn out, which makes the story all the more exciting. Art - 7 The artist put a great amount of time creating the characters and their looks. It is clearly identifiable when you look at the drawings. She expecially puts alot of detail into the facial features and their clothing of the characters. One problem that I have with the drawings is that the first time I saw Hanzo, I thought he was a girl because of his hair and long eyelashes. Characters - 8 Their are quite alot of important characters in this story but they all have lots of times when they are in the story so you won't forget who they are. Also, their personalities are very different from one another, even the brothers, which makes them all unique. ------------------------------------- I really enjoyed this manga and I would recommend it to people who like romance mangas or people who like a little adventure.
Story - 5 (mediocre) Art - 9 (great, I love the coupling I've made. Yeah, IKR, I'm a Fujoshi so what? Character - 2 (dreadful) Enjoyment - 1 (pathetic) overall- 4 (decent) 1st 50 chapters was awesome, I might have rated it with a 10. But the remaining were a total s***. I was controlling myself not to curse anymore due its patheticness. I finished it hoping for a great comeback. Aw geez, now that I think about, it was really a waste. grr >.< Super stupid heroine, chaotic conclusion, and again, stupid heroine. At Least it was consistent on its heroine being stupid and has tons of bishieseven older bishies (drools haha). I guess that's it. I enjoyed it coupling bishies with the older bishies together. Well, you can't deprive a Fujoshi THAT from a wasted gem like this. *sigh..
I love this manga so much that I've actually reread the manga over three times. This manga has everything that I was looking for: romance, action, tragedy, laughs, and a main female character who actually tries to put in an effort to improve! It has some mature themes in it however so I would recommend this series only to readers 16/17+
