Of course there isnt review for this This is best mecha manga ever made The concept of going to another world is overly done to death but to me this is the one time save for konosuba where its actually fucking works without being gay Anyways the premise is rather simple A shota is sent back to the past to pilot a stone god said to sage the empire of mu in its worse crisis plot is great same with the art work I feel that the characters overall are alright at best though i doubt anyone comes for that Overall read it
Super Robot Isekai in a hyper violent-sexual world in typical Go Nagai fashion. If you're familiar with Mazinger, Getter, or Jeeg then you will be familiar with many of the tropes and elements present in this manga. However, unlike previous works, God Mazinger blends that formula in the most cohesive narrative yet. While in the present day Isekai concepts are a bit played out, God Mazinger comes within a year of the original anime Isekai, Aura Battler Dunbine. Much of the same elements of Dunbine are present in God Mazinger, but to the strength of this manga it evolves that formula out of a simplequirk of dimensional travel. It's weaved into the plot elements in a more seamless way, while grounding it inside a theoretical Mazinger multi-verse. The "what if this happened?" element to God Mazinger, inside Mazinger, is a very nice touch and to readers in the 80s must have felt like a sprawling universe was beign expanded upon before their eyes. While the later pacing does feel a bit rushed, and there are moments of typical Nagai/Dynamic Planning art weakness, the actual framing and designs in this manga top anything strictly created by Nagai before (as in, without Ken Ishikawa). The length as well serves to give us more time with the characters and feels less like a supplemental manga to an anime, and more like the primary mode of narrative communication, or at least an alternative one, more similar to the Devilman Anime/Manga split. Definitely recommended to most people, especailly those looking to dig into the evolution of manga.
Young sports enthusiast, Yamato Hino hears voices calling out to him and during a thunderstorm, he is brought to a parallel world. In this world is the Kingdom Mu, under attack by the evil Dorado of the Empire of Dinosaurs. Yamato was summoned from the prayers of queen Aila Mu to pilot a statue known as the God Mazinger. Joining the Mu army's ranks, Yamato fights against Dorado and his army. (Source: Mazinger Wikia)
this was my first try on an old manga work and I really liked the way the plot went in the final chapters. Obviously I can pick and point a lot of problems in the narrative or the artwork, however, as a short manga I can definitely see why the decisions were made this way. I leave the story with a true reflexive though. We can relate to the message the author tried to bring to the table. I think the work on the characters lack deepness mostly due of the rushed pace it takes and some chapters had a lot of action-packed pages, with onlydrawings. Overall I'd say it's average (5).
