Overall: 8/10 This was a very enjoyable binge read. The characters are pretty lovable and the tone stays light throughout the whole thing. It's technically still not finished but is on hiatus waiting for the LN to get further ahead and who knows how long the next volume will take to come out. Story: 9/10 Nothing outstanding, but quirky and well-paced and well put together. Relying on comedic story tropes. It's pretty episodic in a monster, or in this case, weapon of the week type of format and relies on the interactions between the characters for most of its entertainment. Art: 6/10 Art is nothing fantastic save forthe covers, but serves the purpose of the series regardless. In fact, more detailed art might take away from the comedic tone of story. So, the art is as it should be. The 6 doesn't reflect it as bad, just fair as it says. Character: 9/10 What makes the series enjoyable. Everyone is put into a relatively typical trope roles, the quirky scientist, the beautiful senior, and your unlucky but lucky lead. All are typical but lovable nonetheless. Enjoyment: 9/10 I binged it and don't regret it.
Arihisa Aokura needs money. He needs money in order to support his family of orphans and earn a living at the same time. Looking online for potential employers, he finds a posting for a part time job in an "evil organization." Seeing that the pay and benefits were fairly substantial, he took the chance and took the interview. He was somehow hired and now has to work as a henchman inside the evil organization "Antares." Will he be able to survive the onslaught of missions against heroes while providing for his orphan brothers and sisters? (Source: MangaHelpers)
This is a manga that has a simplistic concept that it keeps simple throughout the entire manga, but still manages to use it effectively. The core of the manga is a guy joining an evil organization for money and things never actually getting all that evil. Rather, everything is quite lighthearted and humorous. The evil organization also has absolutely no impact on the plot at all beyond him being a part of it, rather nothing such as the purpose of the organization or anything of the sort is explained at all. The plot itself actually seems to revolve around Aokura's relationship with his family, especially his little sisterChisato, and with Ladywulf/Mikoto. For how short and non-plot oriented the manga is, the characters are characterized pretty well and are pretty interesting. The relationship and character development is also super shallow but it feels fine in context, especially the ending which felt super rushed but felt like a good point to end on with solid progress in these areas. Really though, the comedy is what really holds the manga up, and it does a pretty good job of staying funny throughout the series, albeit in a really childish way that I wasn't expecting and which was actually somewhat refreshing. The art was okay. tl;dr: A short manga that doesn't have much depth but has solid characters and humor.
Fine manga, but very weak Story: 6.5/10 The story mainly focuses on the comedy, really, the plot is very weak and there are hardly any serious moments, even at the end which was supposed to be the most serious moment wasn't that great, and so as it focuses completely on the comedy it's expected to be very good, because most comedy manga have serious moments as well, and if you only focus on comedy it should be hilarious, but it was rather weak, it was fine, but it wasn't hilarious or especially good whatsoever. The plot as an idea is not bad though, and the maincharacter being what he is, but through the manga the story just does not do all that well. Art: 6.5/10 The art is typical, not that great and too chibi at times I felt like, but it was alright, nothing especially good or fitting, but clear at the least. Characters: 6.5/10 The characters were again "okay", the MC a typical average comedy style guy, and then you get the rest which didn't have very intriguing personalities as well, and their designs were really boring, but they pass because even if the comedy isn't hilarious it was quite funny at times, not something I'd laugh or even giggle at, just as a concept. Overall, it was a decent manga that you should read if you're bored, but don't expect anything serious out of it or to laugh your ass of, that's why I'm rating it as "fine", which is a 6.
