A really nice send off for the characters! Every time I re-read Fake I feel like the ending is a bit too quick, this epilogue does a great job at tying up the loose ends and gives a very sweet send off to the characters. Other than our main two characters you had their two closest colleagues at the station as well as Diana and Berk who weren't really mentioned at the ending of the main story. All of them get little scenes here that I think were hinted at pretty nicely in the main story. Bicky and Carol also show up and it's funto see what their final forms look like. Seeing as this is a bonus one-shot it's to be expected that nothing crazy will happen here and you obviously have to have read the main story first or there is no point to this chapter. It's short, predictable and sweet, and it's just what was needed for the story. I also really like that the artstyle is still what we know and love from Fake, but has ever so slightly started to shift towards what Fake II would eventually look like, a very nice mix! If you've finished and enjoyed Fake then you're sure to love this little bonus too!
Like, Like, Love is an extra one-shot of FAKE that Sanami Matoh included in her illustration book, Monotone. It takes place a few years after the conclusion of FAKE, and shows who ends up with whom.
Rather than an epilogue, this feels like a side story. The story is absurdly bland and I struggle to even call it a story. Most of it is marriage talk and rest of it is “roommate” talk. Both of which have the writing quality of a Harlequin novel, which is to say it’s terribly uninteresting. The art is average, though that means fine for BL standards. It’s actually okay to look at, it isn’t offensive and the background is even actually drawn in for most of the panels. Overall, as you might have expected, this is only for people who really care about characters from Fake, somuch that they would like any additional content with them. If that description doesn’t describe you, don’t expect to find enjoyment here.
