This review contains no spoilers. *Firstly, my subjective thoughts: At first i thought this manga was just a mindless ecchi with no real story or fathomable conclusion to expect so i dropped it and was going to rate it 5 or 6 (probably the low rating on MAL is because of this exact scenario repeating for other people) but after a few years i decided to finish the manga and i couldn't be happier with my decision to do so. With almost every chapter from around the second half of the manga you start to feel that something bigger ishappening behind the scenes, something, but you still don’t know exactly what, because there are so many possibilities of the truth behind everything that you stay wondering the whole time about the truth and when the story reaches its climax you finally understand that it wasn’t just a mindless ecchi story with no purpose. Or was it? I’ll leave for you to find out. *Secondly, my objective overview: Story: The story is shrouded in mystery. Why did everyone disappear from the world? Why is the main character Miki still in it and why are there other lucky (or unlucky) ones also left in this world? Although all these questions get answered, i can't tell you the answers here. At some points there are intriguing, unexpected, unexplained and mysterious things that suddenly happen but apart from this mysterious world, the story mainly consists of Miki travelling to meet her family with the hopes that they're still in this world. During the journey she meets other people and decides to join them, as they're on their own way to meet their families and they happened to be going the same direction. The story has its own erotic, happy, sad, scary, thrilling and mysterious moments. It's definitely more than it seems at a first glance. It could have no ecchi and it would still be an engaging and interesting story. Character: Although character development in this story is not very profound and for some characters seemingly nonexistent, you couldn't say that it's the same for the main character Miki. As time goes on, we get to know why she is the way she is and what happened in the past for her to become like this. Things that at first seem to have no reason apart from instinctual desire become things that we learn to accept after understanding the reason behind them. That said, the story definitely lacks realism with how characters react to the world. The main character is living in a drastically different world from what she's used to but for the most part of the story she doesn't really care about it that much, almost like it wasn't even real, like a dream. Art: To be fair, the art is not worthy of wallpaper material but for the years that this manga was running (from 2012), the art is definitely decent. It's not bad, not great but definitely decent.
One morning, upon waking up, people disappeared from the world. Only a single girl was left behind. A beautiful girl's sexual fantasy of seeking men and warmth!! (Source: MU)
So, this is my first review on MAL, so please don't expect too much. But I HAD to make a review on this manga considering how the review scores differ from the rating itself. I think this is because people drop this because at the beginning it is borderline hentai but please believe me when I say it gets a lot more interesting. Now onto the rating of each section of this manga. Story 6.5: To be honest, there is barely a story to begin with in the first 10 ish chapters, but I would say the last quarter is where the mystery element reaches it's peak. It's definitely not the suspenseful type of mystery but more philosophical. However, the ending was definitely 'cheap' (I won't say any more than that). If you re-read the manga, the reasons for certain things happening now make sense so I don't believe the ending was rushed. Art 6: It's decent, especially the ecchi scenes, if you know what I mean. there's not much else I need to put here. It fits its purpose Characters 8: (Minor spoilers) There are 7 important characters (from my memory). There's the MC, a fat guy, a young couple, a 20 something girl, a young teenage boy and a hidden stalker. They all have their moment in the spotlight and they are pretty well fleshed out despite not having much backstory. They are very mysterious as they seem to appear then disappear at random times when the MC isn't looking. Speaking of the MC, she is a nyctophobe (fear of the dark) and a nymphomaniac and the only way she can be calm in the dark is if she has an orgasm. It's a weird character point but I think it works well. Enjoyment 9: I know this manga isn't objectively perfect, but damn it was a fun ride and also one of the most unique manga I have read. It's entertaining from start to finish. Something about this manga just fascinates me. Overall 8: I was close to giving this a 7 because it's objectively not worth an 8 in all honesty, but I bumped it up 1 because of how much I enjoyed it. if you're skeptical about this manga, please read until chapter ~30 before deciding if you want to drop it. Thanks for reading
This review contains no spoilers. This is my first review on the site, but I will try to share my experience about this work. I started to read this work because I found the proposal of having only one character in a world where entering us here is totally possible to happen. You create several theories as to why the people of that world disappeared and this is very interesting to think about, is it that people died of some disease, or were kidnapped by some alien or even just playing a prank. Over time a few other characters will appear with well-defined goals and you will start tocreate new theories, although the manga has a little hentai and this is a focus it is still a great read.
The sheer magnitude of shock I received once finishing this book is what compelled me to leave a review. On one hand I wish to beat the author with the blunt end of an axe for the ridiculous pacing and horrible fleshing out of the characters/story, but at the same time congratulate him for a compelling story. The fact of the matter is that this book grabs you by the throat and demands to be read (a rather good quality for a book imo) even if you react negatively to its flaws. I guess this speaks volumes for the potential of this book, even ifit had been wasted by the author. It certainly is a challenge tbf, reading the entire thing i mean. Without the context being revealed at the end, you end up thinking 'What the fuck am I reading?'. And perhaps the joy of understanding the whole thing at the end of the novel comes from the absolute absurdity the author places the reader in. Whatever the case is, this book plunges the reader into a chaotic. apparently meaningless, and confusing world, where it seems both the protagonist and the reader were meant to struggle to find the answer. And perhaps this was the ultimate goal of the author, be it slightly poorly executed. My advice before attempting to read this first-draftesque novel, is to pay close attention to the details. Although few, you will realize they add up, which adds if anything a little bit of depth and flesh to this novel that requires it desperately.
Man....Man oh man. That was one hell of a journey. Yeah, there were a few things that didn't made sense here and there, there was also a lot of time skipping between some chapters and a lot of questionable stuff happening for no reason but for pure ecchi-ness, but once you get to the end, it all makes sense. This manga got me through some emotional roller coaster. One of the fewer manga that I actually enjoyed and read till the end. If you're in to ecchi, or perhaps you're more in to the mystery and super natural part of it, I guess you'd likethis manga. But if not, then don't bother. I mean, It's a short 4 volume 85 chapters manga, so...might as well read it just by pure curiosity. And the art style isn't half bad. Probably one of the more simplified but well drawn manga out there. I highly suggest it to anybody interested and If you're one of those people who just likes to trash on everything and you accept nothing but ,,perfection,, in manga, then skip it. It's not worth your time.
