Well, it is my first review about any manga but after reading this one i really thought that i need to, to appreciate it. Because I really love it. After reading summary I thought it is not a good one and after reading it I changed my opinion to the opposite. Story: Firstly I read lots of manga (both shoujo and yaoi). And most of them have lots of drama (I meant real drama with lots of teardrops). Haru wo Daiteita contains drama as well but not to the point of nonsense. I am really glad to see their faith in them. Graphics: There are loooootsof nude scenes. If you are sensetive about nudity think again before reading it. But if you are OK with that you will be delighted :) I can write lots of things but i don't want to give spoilers but in conclusion if you are looking for a yaoi with faith, sweet love and sex, you must read this manga!
Iwaki Kyousuke and Katou Yoji are two hugely popular adult film stars looking for a way out of the industry. Their chance arrives when they're both invited to audition for a new erotic film. Imagine their surprise when the director decides the only way for him to choose who will get the coveted lead role is for them to perform one of the film's love scenes on the spotβwith each other! Things get even crazier when Katou decides to take drastic measures to ensure he can continue seeing Iwaki after film production wraps. How will Iwaki respond to Katou's impulsive act? (Source: SuBLime) Included one-shot: Volume 5: Fuyu no Semi (Winter Cicada, 3 parts)
I had seen the OVAs then went back to find the manga. As you can see, it ended almost 10 yrs ago and it debut another 10 yrs before that. The drawing might be dated, but the art is still beautiful. Someone once said this is a gloriously porntastic, and I cannot help but agree. The story line move along beautifully, you get to see the maturity of the characters, Iwaka and Katou grow over time and their love for each other. There are tons of comedic moment, so it's not all intense. But it also shows flaws inpeople and how they come back from it. The art work is beautiful, I do look forward to the color pages, they're so nicely done. I am now going to see if I can find the Winter Cicada OVAs, just to make the story whole. That's also a very beautiful story that is a subplot of Embracing Love, more importantly, that was the goal of the two main characters focus of work. So glad they made OVAs for this. Sensei did a beautiful job, love the characters.
