Delusional Love is one of those stories that just can't quite figure out what it wants to be. It starts out an ecchi, almost borderline H, story about a beautiful honors student trying her best to seduce her new homeroom teacher. It's sexy and perverted and right when you think that something's about to happen... The manga turns into a bloody suspense/thriller story. Both parts of the story are well done. The artwork, in particular, is tremendous: the gore and violence are very well drawn in the second half, as are the breasts and titillation in the first half. But the two parts ofthe story don't mesh well, leading to reader whiplash. Moreover, first half doesn't go far enough down the infidelity path to be a "Fatal Attraction"-style morality tale. Also, he gives her a tragic backstory to make her a sympathetic character, which clashes with the repeated attempts to make her a frighteningly crazy figure. In short, this manga is sadly less than the sum of its parts. It's not bad, if you like thrillers, but I can't really recommend it to anyone.
Kazuma Kadomae is the new homeroom teacher at a local high school, and he makes an effort to learn all he can about his students. Though, one student in particular—the principal's daughter Kanade Noeda—seems more shy than the rest. But the attention he gives her ends up unintentionally sparking a delusional one-sided love within Noeda, leading her to pursue him romantically. Kadomae becomes increasingly disturbed by Noeda's erratic actions toward him, and his attempts to get her to stop only strengthen her affections. But when a student ends up in an accident after being "too close" to him, and Noeda begins stalking Kadomae and his family, he realizes that she will stop at nothing to be with him. A good example of how yandere horror stories should be done, in my opinion. The story starts off in a very ecchi-ish manner, with bits of Kanade's craziness displayed here and there. This goes on for the first half of the manga, after which the story gets dark. There is no release in the build-up of suspense (as compared to something like Higurashi which has comedy here and there), and there is a very gradual descent into psychological horror with each chapter, indicating good pace. 8/10. The art is great. It's very clean, and if you like boobs and girls masturbating you'll love this. On theSFW side, the characters are well-drawn, nothing to complain about. 9/10. The characters aren't unbelievable and they complement the plot. The MC is the focus and the other characters are more or less in the background, and the MC's inner thoughts and feelings are well-developed. 9/10. Overall, if you like yanderes, boobs, and psychological horror, you will like this. 9/10.
Ehh it's ok I guess, the art's pretty good and the characters really are interesting. When reading this Manga you end up feeling so sorry for the main guy. But it was ok. . SPOILER WARNINg So the main guy has a pretty good life in the beginning he's got a beautiful wife and daughter. Lives in a comfortable home and just got a job as a teacher. He starts his job and tries to get to know all the kids and he see that the main girl is kinda quiet and lonely. So he thinks "hey why not get to know her a little better" becausehe wants to get along with all the kids in his class. The main girl mistakes the main guy's kindness as love and starts to harassing him. She tries to kill her best friend because the best friend was getting too close to, attacks the wife, kidnaps the daughter, and a bunch of other crazy stuff. This girl is really crazy. She knows she's attractive so she tries to use her looks to get with the guy. He resists almost all her advances because he's a teacher and married. (except this one time he got drunk at her place during a party and the two made out) She's got secret photos of him, sniffs his clothes, basically a psycho. So the guy is obviously aware of her feelings and tries to push her away but she thinks all the mean stuff he says is just another "trial of love" or whatever. Tough times for the main guy you know? I was kinda expecting that she would kidnap and assault the guy but that didn't happen thankfully. Those who want to read it, know that there is some nudity and sexually provocative moments (but not in a hot way, in a "Oh that's nasty" way, unless you like weird stuff which this may not bother you)
Even if this was the trashest Yandere manga out there, the story seemed pretty good for 18 chapters but my goodness gracious WTF was up with the ending like wuttttttttt?!!!!!!!!! Lol Would I consider this better than Future Diary? No Would I recommend this to fans of the Yandere genre? Yes because it does have that intense atmosphere that you probably normally see in Yandere stuff (Apart from Future Diary, I haven't bumped into good Yandere girl series yet but will try find some after this haha) Would I consider Kanade better than Yuno? No but almost. The bich was unpredictable enough like my dudes, you wouldn't truly know if she was gonna kill sensei's fam or not lol. Yeah again, just read this fam if you like your Yanderes😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Oftentimes, a manga will write a yandere as either a love interest for the main character or as shock value for the audience. What's interesting is when the yandere is written as not just as a generic yandere, but as a geninuely ill mental person, which is what this manga does. This manga reads like a horror story, and I love it. The main characters descent to madness is very enjoyable to watch, as he discovers more and more of the unpleasant yandere side of his student. He struggles with his paranoia revolving her and her aggressive obsession with him, this being the most interesting aspect of the book. While the conflict between the yandere and main character was surprisingly interesting and gripping, this manga has very significant tone problems. The first half is, for some reason, written like a hentai. The manga goes through great lengths to show you how sexy the yandere is, and how sexually attracted the main character is to her (although he refuses her advances). This is very tonely jarring from the second half of the manga where the tension between the main character and yandere switches from sexual tension to geninue fear and anxiety on the part of the main character. I think the author was going for a "fatal femme" thing, but it just doesn't work at all, and it takes you out of the plot.
