So I was hoping more people would read this for a bigger input but yeah I'm going to be the first kid to do it. SO this story is pretty boring if anything the characters are bland not cool enough for me to care about just very bland then they throw in a stalker chick or whatever I don't even know, the main character is a edgy light yagami wannabe and the story ends with the game master declaring the world is now gonna participate in a deadly crossword game. I honestly like the concept it reminds me of GANTZ in a way or As The GodsWill but the art can go from a 2 to a 5 which I mean I don't blame the guy hands are hard to draw, but yeah this story isn't worth your time. ALSO the artist has another story called Labyrinth torture or something along those lines and on his twitter it shows that his art has IMPROVED immensely but I really want to see how his story went so if anyone has any info on it please let me know.
A horrifying competition for survival between normal high school students soon becomes filled for blood, guts, and death!
Wow, this is actually just awful. The "death game" genre of manga is becoming more and more oversaturated market. And this one is like the Great Value version of already bad product. It's one of the worst manga of this type, if not *the* worst. And before you ask, yes, it's worse than Ousama Game. The story is at best uninteresting. We know pretty much nothing about the characters and you're lucky if even their name is mentioned more than once. Does the manga provide the reader with any reason to care if any of the characters die or live? No, none at all. The characters feelas significant as bugs on the road feel to a truck driver. The protagonist is annoyingly edgy disgracefully cheap knock-off of Light Yagami - the type of dude who probably build his whole personality of getting the "INTP" result from online personality test and posts unintentional cringe on r/atheism. Other than the protagonist there's a yandere, and the rest of the characters are just blank state cannon fodders. The art goes from bad to worse, and the gore is usually portrayed so clumsily it's effectively more hilarious than scary. This one is definitely a waste of time, unless you'd like to entertain yourself with how horrendous it is.
I went to least scored manga on here, and I am glad I did. I read a few of the other least scored titles, but I was very surprised that this manga was rated as 4th worst even though it isn't actually that bad (I unironically enjoyed it). Sure it may be cliche, but wouldn't it being cliche then make it at the least average? Though some scale dislike as not a matter of critique but of certain dislikes towards key elements of the given material (for example, I highly dislike 'Death Parade' due to the philosophy involved, even though in regards to criticism itis not a bad show). A reason that some people may not like 'Dead Word Puzzle' is the photo-copying of Light from 'Death Note', but I did not mind that and in fact thought it was a fine addition. This somewhat helps draw some semblance of familiarity/grounding of the reader to the story that does not have much character development due to having a low chapter count of 4. Personally, I love crazy/insane characters (maybe because I am crazy/insane), so I quite enjoyed this and I loved the ending as well. The art and gore was good though at times some characters looked a bit too blocky/wide. On a final note, I would also recommend this manga because it only takes ~30 minutes to read and it may be better than you expect for the *current* 4th worst on MAL.
