Bremen

Despite it's flaws, Bremen is still quite a manga. It starts off with Kasuga Romio and Hino Reijii fleeing to Japan, with interests of starting a band. Now any of you who have read "Beck" or any other music related manga, are in for a surprise. Bremen is much more about Kasuga kicking ass than it is about music, but don't get me wrong, music has a huge role in the plot. Story: 6.5/10 Why so low? Because the arcs are usually barely connected and quite repetitive. The wrap up for the story seemed thrown in and unsatisfying. The plot also seems to constantly rely oncoincidental meeting/timing, and it got a little stale for me. I'll admit the plot had potential, but my expectations were not met. Art: 8/10 I never found anything too amazing about the art, but it was never really an issue. Characters: 8/10 This is probably where Bremen shines for me. We have a few fully developed characters (well, I wasn't a big fan of Ran). Ryo had a lot of development as did Kasuga. It's a shame that Reijii wasn't really developed, but it's not that big of an issue. If you're like me, then you'll be rooting for Kasuga the whole time. Enjoyment: 7/10 While I doubt that I'll list this as one of my favorite manga, it's quite interesting. I definitely recommend it.
