Takashi Nagasaki (under his pseudonym Richard Woo, guinoist who has worked with Naoki Urosawa for some high level stories such as 20th Century Boys, Pluto, Master Keaton, Monster and Billy Bat) brings us this awesome and deep piece of art about corruption and evil. Police officer Kurokochi gives name to this adult and well structured masterpiece consisting in 23 mangas that can be divided in 4 archs that are interconected. Richard Woo gives many references to events occurred in Japan during past century like the case of 300 millions yens in late 60's or the sect that comitted a terrorist attack in the 90's, as wellcurrent events as president Trump or North Korea's political situation. You will find corrupt police officers, corrupt politicians, secret societies, inmorality, violence, killers, rapist and you will ask yourself what is the law and how Kurokochi and his colleague can stop such bad people living in society. If you like reading about conspiracy, society, justice and police stories you will love this manga. The story is well written and if it would be more famous, it will turn into a cult manga in next 25 years.
Kurokouchi Keita is the black sheep of the police force. He works alone, and doesn't think twice about extorting money from the dirty politicians by getting hold of their achilles heels. Using the money and whatever bits of information acquired through underhanded means, he gets closer and closer to the ultimate unresolved crime of the Showa era (1968); the 300 million bank heist. One day, the new rookie Seike Mayo, is assigned as Kurokouchi's partner. Excellent but naive, he is the exact opposite of Kurokouchi, but nonetheless, the duo relentlessly chase down the criminals.
