What a surprisingly good collection! Definitely recommended. Art: The art is somewhat generic and like a lot of one shots, the backgrounds are sparse, but there's a subtlety to a lot of the character emotions that comes across. The same is true of character designs where at first they seem kind of generic, but the author does a good job of switching the designs up just enough between stories. Overall, I liked the art. Plot: Fantastic! This collection has solid theming throughout with simple, though well executed premises. The writing is also great, making this a fun read. Each character has a ton of personality. This isperhaps the strongest aspect of each story.
A collection of six of Yotsuhara Furiko's short stories depicting the love between various girls. 1. Laika, Pavlov, Pochihachi-kou 2. Koi wo Egaku Hito (A Person Who Draws Love) 3. Kuchisaki Onna to Teppeki no Shojo (Lip-service Girl and Iron-Walled Maiden) 4. Karasu Nureba ni Hikarimono (That Which Shines on the Soaked Crow Feathers) 5. Koibumi Miman (Insufficient Love-letter) 6. Chopsticks
You pretty much get what you should expect. It's a series of yuri one-shots. Overall, they follow a pretty light-hearted theme, and obviously (since we're talking about one-shots), you won't see too much character depth or dramatic story development. That being said, most of them were actually pretty good, and managed to tell and wrap up the story nicely within the given time. I feel that some collections of one-shots have an issue where the different stories or characters just feel like re-skins of one another. However this is not the case here. The characters, visually as well as from their behaviour, are all across theboard, giving you some short, fresh and cute yuri experience every time.
