I don't see how something like this could have passed through peoples eye's Also before anything, just quickly understand that it's a one shot, not a full on manga, I read this before as a suggestion from my friend, and I gotta say , I didn't expect a story to be so moving, especially after only a couple pages of story telling. Although it was only a one shot, it had enough push to make me feel emotions. I honestly wouldn't mind reading it all if it was more than a one shot. 10/10 Give it a shot, it's a beautiful story.
Given that this is a doujinshi, there is absolutely no possibility for something this genuinely enjoyable to get serialized. However, there are some things that are completely fine as they are. This one-shot is a fantastic example of that and shows how people should enjoy life, hinted through the relationship between the main character Hanayo, and the popular girl Shiroyama. It all begins with Hanayo reflecting on an event that happened in his past. That event being the day that he caught Shiroyama meeting with a strange man near his workplace (prostitution). Of course, the overall set-up gives the reader the idea that some sort of relationshipwould develop for these two. Though, the expected romantic feelings are shown in a more realistic fashion, where the protagonist is concerned for her rather than loving her. Believable character interaction was the definite strength of the story, and the symbolism of Shiroyama and the snow appearing in several parts, gives the doujin a unique depth and maturity. The story doesn't please the readers with the things that they actually want, but instead works its way into creating an ending that makes the readers interpret and analyze why it had that sort of outcome.Overall, the resulting moral of the story indicates how things come and go, like how snow appears every once in awhile. When that time comes, it's best to enjoy those moments while they last and stay strong when it is all gone.
A bittersweet story of young love.
To love someone is something that you alone can gain easily but to make someone you love to reciprocate your feelings needs hard work, sometimes it can be mutual but that's not always the case. "Semete, ano yuki no you ni" or "At least, like that snow" is a manga about the bitter-sweet fleeting love story of Shiroyama Yuki which in my opinion stands for "Snow of the White Mountain", even though the doujinshi is short, it was still able to deliver the feelings and emotions in a fleeting moment just like fireworks. It will make you realize how great it is to be inlove with someone. this is a must read, with only 37 pages, it worth the time bruh, trust me.
Semete, Ano Yuki no You ni, is a 2010 doujinshi by Fujimari. This reading tells a short, conclusive young romance story. It is difficult diving into the plot without making spoilers, so we will get away with the very summary of MAL: "A bittersweet story of young love". To say something, the story is not extremely thrilling but it manages to get you into it thanks to the relatable setting, adequate pace and themes of the story. One of those cases when you know you are reading something you might have already read or seen somewhere else but dont care because of the high qualityof the material. Design, composition and all related to the art are quite good. I am not really into the doujinshi scene so i dont know how this work should rank, but nevertheless is narratively profficient. Not really complex, with perhaps an excesive absence of backgrounds at times, but still appealing and pretty adequate considering the nature of the story. To sum things up, this is a doujinshi that i am sure has gone sadly unnoticed, but it is totally worth reading. Asides from the objective factors mentioned above, it is extremely touching work that succeeds on generating emotions on the reader much better than a lot of other big, lengthier renowned works. A clear case of quality over quantity, give it a try and you wont regret it
To be honest, as you finish these moving one-shot, you really wish it was more than just a one-shot. Story wise, due to the nature of it being a one-shot, things went by a little fast but beside that, that was it. Character development is over the top and you become attach to character, thus, as the story ends, you feel a bittersweet sensation rushing through your body. The part that stands out to me the most is the amount of reality added within this story. The fate of the girl, the story, the financial status, its all so real. The reality of the storymakes it even more heartbreaking as you look forward to the future, questioning the survival of her. You feel hatred towards the MC for not doing anything. But then as you put yourself in his situation, you realize the powerlessness of the situation. Overall, I seriously love it.
