Why does someone try to write about crime and violence when they have no clue how they work? Anyway, the characters completely lack anything that would resemble a human being. Self-preservation, self-interest, and other basic stuff, nada. They are just there to be the evil gangsta or the innocent victim. You're supposed to feel anger toward the gangstas and empathy toward the victims, but they are so shallow they don’t even register as human beings. They are just placeholder NPCs with test dialoges forgot there from the early development phase. There is no buildup, hence, there is no payoff. Take, for example, the "descent into the madness"of the old dude. In one panel, the old dude is a totally normal, nice old guy, in the next panel, he is a revenge-hungry budget Heisenberg. Just like that he transforms, it is incredibly rushed. Moral barriers don't just break down from one moment to another, or if they do, they weren't there to begin with. Which is not an issue in itself, there are wolves in sheep's clothing. But when the author tries to sell them as a nice guy, I'm not going to buy it. The characters also come off as brain-dead. When the plot requires it, they do not notice even if the signs hanging in front of their noses. At other times, out of nowhere, they figure out things they have no information about. So they function as inconsistent plot conveniences. The only somewhat (!) redeemable character is the main heroine, but she is literally just there. Events just happen around her, she does nothing on her own. Understandable though considering her situation, but she is nothing more than a background prop. Basically a doormat... Oh, wait... Now, as I think about it, she isn't that understandable either. You get almost no backstory for most of the story, and then it's dumped all at once at the end. It's too little, too late to give a flying duck. The rest of the cast is treated even worse. Their backstories are so rudimentary that they barely give an explanation why they are the way they are. Assuming, of course, they got any, because most of them got none. I didn't talk much about the plot, but don't worry, it is just as badly executed as the characters. It is just random ideas stuck together without any common sense. Any plot twist is basically a pulled-out-of-ass jutsu. No wonder the whole story falls apart pretty quickly, and in the later chapters it becomes a parody of itself. Especially at the last few panels at the end. The author literally forgets what the hell happened up until that point in the story. So yeah, if even the author forgets what their own story was about, why would I care? I think it is needless to say, but don't waste your time on this. It is not good enough to read for the experience, and it is not bad enough to read for the laughs. It is just simply bad. Honestly, if I had written this manga, it wouldn't even pass as a sketch, let alone a published work. I cannot fathom how could a work like this got greenlit and printed.
Violence, abduction, extortion, drugs, blackmail… This gang will do literally anything for money. One day, they kidnap a young girl, physically and mentally destroying her in the process. Seeing what was done to his beloved daughter, the girl's father loses his sanity, his anger turning into an obsession to find and torture every member of the gang, to ensure they die in the worst imaginable ways. Fires of revenge rage in his heart, and keep escalating…. How will this tale of revenge end? (Source: Silent Manga Audition)
