Boku no Pico

I think it’s rather cute in a way, but the fact it’s a little boy makes me feel a little disgusting . Now if we look at it from a way it not being Hentai, the artwork is astounding and really well done. It is better then it has any right to be. The colors are pretty and bright giving it a childish look. The characters are nicely done and their proportions aren’t all that stretched out. I do have a small problem with the fact that Pico does not look like a little child much. He looks older then he should and much taller. Theycould of just as easily said he was much older and this wouldn't be as creepy as it is. (It would still be creepy, lets not be blind here about that.) Another little problem is that the boys look like girls a lot. Not just how they sometimes dress up as girls but even in guys clothing, they look like girls. Voices are alright, and the sounds… sound believe able at least. I don’t want to get much into that area of the show thank you very much. I already feel dirty watching it though I am actually very happy this is not real children. There is a very big difference between real life and cartoon that people don't seem to understand or have a good grasp on. Now… going into story line… At least this one has more of a story line then most other shows? I keep seeing it as a coming of age story or a exploration of the body though what they do is a little more then I would actually wish for. I feel that Pico was touched by a pedophile and that’s why he acts the way he does with the other children. He sees it as a way to make friends and not really fully about full love. This by all means does not make it ok of all the things he had done with the pedo, that guy should go to prison for it if it was real life, but this is all that Pico knows now sadly. Things end up repeating especially when others have no idea what is going on and I do hate that these children now go through all that. But really, that’s me getting into the philosophical part of a anime made for sexual reasons. That’s what happens when you try to break down a anime and review it, even with a hentai. I have rewritten this review because I don't think I had put my point out across well enough when I was younger and first writing my reviews. PEDOPHILES ARE NOT OK! They never will be ok, that said, again, there is a very big difference between Cartoons and real life. Cartoons are not living people, this is why I don't care what fully happens in terms of this anime, because the characters are not real. If this was a real world thing, or even based on a real world event that actually happened (where the people in it was real people) then it would be so much worse and would hope that the cops would become involved in it.
