Doubt! is your average blend of multiple high school beauties attracted to one overly dense MC by some unknown magnetic force known as the RomCom Harem syndrome. With its average characters and very mediocre plot, this short manga provides a surprisingly pleasant read for those that do not mind your typical “many girls fall in love with one guy” love comedy. If you are reading this review, you most likely already know the classic tropes of that are present in the harem genre, so instead this will cover all the aspects that make this manga slightly different from its siblings. While this manga does haveits fair share of cheesy moments, the incorporation of the main character Ichiru Kanzaki’s knowledge of human psychology produces an interesting and entertaining perspective. Instead of having a main character whose only outstanding trait is his kindness, Ichiru has both a caring and responsible nature that makes him a dependable and intriguing character to follow. The story and his involvement within each arc are well thought and fascinating that make him unique. The art in this manga is beautiful and well-drawn. The author has done a great job at carefully constructing events in well thought-out environments. The artistic qualities of the backgrounds are superb and the perspectives utilized create appropriate atmospheres for each situation. The author has done a great job at adding his own twist to a clichéd genre. While the heroines, the comedy and the romance are not exactly innovative, there is still a sense of enjoyment and interest through its storytelling. Although it isn’t the greatest love story ever told, it undoubtedly has its memorable moments that make it a pleasant read.
Ichiru Kanzaki is given an offer he can't refuse: to clear his entire debt, he has to enroll in the high school where his father works to track down his father's illegitimate daughter, his own younger half-sister, whom he has never met. But which girl is she? (Source: MU)
