Kisei Kanojo Sana: Parasistence Sana

When i found this on this site at first i was like... "this one's a little wierd. I mean come on, really a tapeworm girl?" Then as i started reading it i actually started enjoying the story and by the way this manga has just the right ammount of fan service, it has a nice ending too. The artstyle is not really the kind that i'm into but it's fine i didn't really mind it too much, the characters' personalities are really well written. I highly recommend that you read this if you want a manga that has a unique story/plot.

STORY: 8/10 A rather unique story if I say so myself. I can't recall anything (or that I've been able to read) of recent memory that is similar to this manga in terms of plot. The manga flowed very naturally, leading off with simple but sufficient character introductions. Then transitioning to the meat and potatoes of the manga, i.e character induced interactions, events and scenarios. Minor conflicts and questions were being developed and eventually played out to a heart-warming ending. Naturally being a short 11 chapter manga, it suffered from a slight feel of a rushed/"I want more!" but rest assured it was a decent wrapup to the story. The individual components of the story were handled wonderfully. The comedic tones worked well alongside the romance aspects and when the manga wanted you to feel emotional, it succeeded. ART: 7.5/10 The artwork for this manga was superb all around. Character designs were clean, crisp and drawn extremely well. The main cast as well as supporting characters were appealing and detailed enough to stand out on their own and facial expressions were clearly defined. The drawer (Soumatou) gave off a impression of being well-versed as he was able to also create great background work as well. The ability to ink perfect details, tones and shading really bought each panel to life and set the proper mood for each and every chapter or scene. CHARACTERS: 7.5/10 Sana (the female lead) is probably the highlight of character development in this story. Her transition and growth to try to humanize herself was a real joy to experience and often caused her to overshadow her male opposite most of the time. However, that's not to say that the male lead was a brick wall. The way he handled himself throughout the manga was notable and his on-screen presence really carried a majority of the story. The supporting characters were also done very well. Despite being somewhat one trick ponies, their chemistry with each other as well with the pair of mains were outstanding and resulted in laughs, smirks and grins. ENJOYMENT/OVERALL 7.75/10 Don't be hesitant about the premise of the manga, it's really a good read! I definitely would recommend this to readers of all kinds that want to enjoy a light-hearted rom-com in a non-traditional setting. The character interactions and romance aspects between the male and female protagonists were great and left me wanting for more. To be specific, the female lead Sana is definitely a memorable character; a cliche archetype to some but simply too adorable to forget so soon.
