"Do You Want To Try?" - The title, for some weird reason, led me to read this manwha... I can pretty much say I'm greatly dissapointed... Story: (4) The story is one extremely popular in Korea, including Jjangs and all that. It even has the ever popular "Fake relationship to get some stalker to leave me alone". It's very mediocre, and the author keeps trying to make it interesting by adding random things such as bullying, dark pasts, and betrayals. Trust me, that's all there is to it. Art: (8) This is the best part in the series. If that disappoints you, turn away now and just don't readit. The art, though, is very good. The only bad thing about it, I would say, is that hairs look stiff in the beginning but that is fixed in the later half of the series. Characters: (3) The author just couldn't make up her mind when deciding the character's personalities! The main girl, for example, is independent and bossy one chapter and a cry-baby who's dragged along by some guy the next! The romance between the two mains also didn't develop. All of a sudden, the girl just doesn't find her fake boyfriend annoying at all. Instead, just randomly, she begins to LIKE the guy. For no reason... You know what? I don't even want to go on. To put it simply, all characters are bi-polar! There! Enjoyment: (5) It's not an entertaining series at all... I mean, if you like stereotypical romances it's a bulls-eye but if you don't like that stuff... Just don't read it! I can tell you right now, don't expect too much from this series. I did, and I'm disappointed! Overall: (5) Other than the art... This series doesn't have many good points... This is a warning: "Do You Want To Try?" isn't the worst manwha out there, but DEFINITELY not the best!
When the hot-tempered Han Hye Won accidentally insults the handsome jjang of Han Hwa Go, Sun Woo Bin decides to pay her a visit...with his entire motorcycle gang, ready to see some blood. So how does that lead up to a kiss and the infamous captain begging for a date? Do you want to try? (Source: Esthétique)
I actually, (unlike many others) enjoyed this Manwha with a passion. Here is why. Story: (7) Although the story did have some definite rough spots and events that I assumed would trigger more or less emotional response than they actually did, I found myself mostly laughing... then crying (which is always a plus) at some of the events in the Manwha, I did think some parts could use a little tampering, apart from small details, the story was brilliant. Art: (10) In my opinion the art was really really pretty, the legs didn't look deformed or anything, and the faces were really really pretty, although I didfind it hard to telll SOME of the characters apart. Character: (10) I loved every single one of the characters (apart from the evil ones) with a passion, all personalities were well developed and displayed some qualities I hadn't yet seen in any manga/manwha/anime etc. Enjoyment: (9) I enjoyed it. Overall: (9) ^_^
After reading this manhwa, I'm surprised I even made it through. There were definatley some parts of the manhwa that I enjoyed but it's just too messy. In the beginning you think it sounds pretty good and immediately take a liking to the unique characters. Once the story continues, you noticed how unorganized the manhwa truly is. I honestly thought the art was pretty good, the characters looked amazing. There were a lot scenes that I also enjoyed as well but I still have to give this manhwa a low score! Starting with the storyline... You start out thinking you know what's realling going on but studdenlythe manhwa moves too fast. New characters come in and they're alright but it feels like the story loses it's purpose. The reason behind the main couple HyeWon and SunWooBin completely disintegrates. Then once the lovey dovey feelings come out, the climax of the story is the cliche damsel in distress scene. As the resoloution comes out, the author takes the worst turn and cuts the manhwa in the worst way possible. An amateur wouldn't even think of creating such a stupid ending. Leaving all these problems unsolved and ending it randomly. My second biggest problem were the characters... All of them are the same and typical ones from any other manga/manhwa/anime. There's the love interest who's a total prick and the lead girl just as stubborn. I hate how the proclaimed antagonist doesn't make much an appearance and same goes with SunWooBin's family. All the characters have their own problems which are realistic but the author does a terrible job of weaving them into the main problem wich is AhYoung. There are also various parts where there is a lot of breaking character. It feels like there is actually no love development between the two love leads. In all honesty, I don't understand how some people could put this manhwa up as one of their top favorites.
So just letting you, I'm not good at writing reviews so don't start commenting me and saying your review did not make sense cause bruh, trust me, I know. So anyways, let's start discussing about it before I get too carried away. When people read the title "Do you want to try?" the majority of you will probably think about dirty stuff. XP Well it's nothing like what you think. It's basically based on this tomboy-ish girl who's always late to school and one day forgets her violin in her brother's motorcycle so he calls him and accidently called the wrong number...I think, XP, andthe guy who she called happens to be a handsome jjang of Han Hwa Go (btw I have no idea what jjang means) and he literally brings his entire gang to beat her up or something but somehow ends up accidently getting kissed which was really weird. Maybe that was just me but...yeah. XP And I'm not gonna spoil anymore cause I literally just read beside me: "Try your best to not write any spoilers." in bold and I was like. Crap. -__- So yeah...bye! XP
Do You Want to Try is a pretty short manwha revolving around a hot headed girl who becomes a "fake" girlfriend to a jjang. Story 5/10: Pretty typical manwha, girl is liked by many, has boys fight over her, gets confused at times, even has jjangs (gang leaders).. even the original premise of the story is not that original- the main fella comes across the heroine before she realizes it and falls in love at first sight.. Art 7/10: The art was really good, I like the Korean style of animation there is a lot of detail in faces and the characters overall look different fromJapanese characters. I like how manwha usually allow for more color and style variation in the characters looks as well... Characters: 5/10: The characters were decent, however it seemed like when one character trait was starting to be exposed, the author would change the way the character was portrayed. Or there would be a hint at some twisted secret and then no explanation.. Enjoyment 5/10: It was average.. the prelude to fight scenes were nice, there was romance and nicely drawn characters- that's a plus.. Overall 5/10: I wouldn't necessarily recommend this to someone who wants to really get into a good read, but if you have a few hours extra time and feel like shooting the breeze, it's not bad...
