Keiichirou Mishima is a 15-year-old guy living with his mom until she suddenly decides to fly to Paris to be with Keiichirou's dad. His mom arranges with his uncle Shirasaki to let him stay at his mansion with his two cousins Marie and Tomari, who he met many years before when he stayed with them for a short while. However, Keiichirou has forgotten nearly everything about back then, including why his cousins apparently now hate him. (Source: MU)
It starts as a typical story, guy made childhood promise that he forgot and is forced to live with people who expected him to follow through. It also ends pretty predictable with parent consent and everyone accepting everything including side characters. At some point in the middle, though, it goes to crazy places of the yandere kind, also a trap. In any case it's a variant of the typical imouto story. If you like the art go for it, it's short and it has a complete ending with epilogues and everything; but if it looks too much like a beginner trying to draw like anime thenyou're not missing anything if you step away.
Gisou Honey Trap legitimately humbled me. Going into it, I thought I understood what it meant for a piece of literature to be bad. During these short 12 chapters, my entire world was flipped on its head. With every page turned, I could feel my inner eye open just a bit more. The characters and story progression were so outlandishly bad I found myself questioning reality itself. "Surely real people would never act like this?" I asked myself. But maybe I was the one at fault here. Maybe everything I knew until now was wrong. I'm not sure about anything now. I absolutely recommend this manga. This truly delivers an experience that can not be found elsewhere. The art was pretty okay also.
