incredible, not your typical shoujo manga, altough it starts with jenny as the main character as it unfolds it starts focusing in umpa, you can see a deepness to it as it takes you into the showbiz world and as the character try to become someone, not just a puppet, but to do their own music and to be heard, with romance, passion, struggle, i think this manga is a must read at least once in your life, is not my favorite but i dont regret reading it, you may hate the characters sometimes, but you are going to love them most of the time, its a manga thats worth reading
Pretty interesting manhwa; the story pretty much revolves around the music industry, and two artists, Jenny You, and Eumpa Won, who want to play/sing their music in their own unique ways. The story goes into how commercialized the musical industry is as well as some of its corruption, which is quite interesting. Romance was touched upon but not stressed too much. Although it's lengthy, it's worth it, though. The art was really clean, and the outfits were interesting. I felt that some things were a bit exaggerated at times, but hey, that's what showbiz is all about. The character development was really nice; everyone's personalities weredrawn out in detail, and no character was completely perfect. Their backgrounds were also well drawn out. The author did a good job in showing that everyone has an "ugly side" of a sort, as well. This gives a slightly more realistic view on the entertainment world in comparison to other entertainment manga/manhwa such as Skip Beat!, The One, and Glass Mask, and it's a must read for those who have enjoyed them. :)
High schooler Jenny You is living a dream. In the public eye, she is a delicate princess, a successful pop star, but in real life, she's a rebellious beauty ostracized by her female schoolmates. She and her classmate, umpa Won (One), seem to have nothing in common on the surface. Eumpa is a quiet boy, ignorant of the pop culture that has enchanted most of his peers. Having spent his childhood as a depressed prodigy in the United States, he has now resolved to lead a normal life as a regular boy. He likes a cute-but-average-looking girl, Young-ju Chae. Young-ju takes him to a pop concert, and Eumpa is exposed to Jenny's music for the first time. Meanwhile, umpa's resolution to live a normal life is challenged when his music teacher steals the young man's music and attempts to pass it off as his own... So begins the story of One...
