Man, this manga deserves more recognition, though sadly the author has passed away so I hope that what I personally find to be his best work gets more recognition. Story 8: What a heart pounding story of a proud Japanese corp standing its ground. It's literally civil war era fights except in a some what mystical setting of a world where there are dragons and sabertooth tigers fight with soldiers. Art: 10 I find the art in this manga extremely pleasing to the eye, most of the charges are drawn beautifully and both the dragons and the sabertooth tigers get their fair share of gorgeous, intimidating panels. All the troops are also fairly distinct which always helps in war mangas. Character: 9 I really liked the MC, and most of the manga is centered around his thoughts as he guides his troop. I find the whole arc of his character to be very satisfying and human. Most of the side characters are also good, they serve their roles fine and nobody every does anything random/out of character. Enjoyment 9: I really love this manga and sad to see that it doesn't get more recognition, if it sounds at all interesting to you I highly suggest you give it a read, it is fully scanlated. Overall 9: Do you like WW1 style wars? Do you like the idea of having sabertoothed tigers and dragons being incorporated into something close to our world. Then you will probably enjoy this manga.
It's about a war between Koukoku (The Imperial country) and Teikoku (The Empire). The main charactor Shinjou Naoe, First Lieutenant of the Koukoku army, is thrown into a long desperate war. The sudden invasion by Teikoku East division crushed the Koukoku North Defense Forces. Shinjou and his 600 men battalion was ordered to battle in the rear and delay the advance of Teikoku 40,000 men army. (Source: ANN)
