Gisho Getter Robo Darkness

This was the best Getter Robo Spinoff I've ever read, even though it was canceled before finishing the story. The excessive amount of gore, sexual violence, and torture porn may have turned off many potential readers, but if you can handle it, you're in for a truly heartfelt Getter Robo story. It's definitely a bad choice for newcomers to the Getter Robo oeuvre, but I highly recommend it for those who have already finished the main series. Darkness doesn't feel as undercooked as Hien, nor as pretentious as Devolution. Darkness has really enjoyable to read but kinda overwhelming action scenes. The character designs are reminiscentof the transitional period of the early 2000s and late 1990s. The story is a classic Getter Robo story but with a unique twist. If humanity had no enemy to fight, what would humanity, chosen by the Getter Rays, do with this power? Darkness answers this question with a brutality that makes the reader feel as disgusted as possible.
