I was curious what other people had thought of this series, but was disappointed at the low rating reviews. The only reviews I saw were from those who haven't finished the series, which really doesn't give this manhwa an accurate review of it. And I don't really write reviews..like ever..but I want to give my opinion of this piece as someone who has actually finished reading it. Story - 8 - There isn't exactly a plot besides the whole theme of the MC working in that insanely huge bathhouse as a scrubber (lol) where all the other scrubbers there act like scrubbing someone's back is a sacredact. It's pretty slice-of-life-y. The score is that high because of the last chapter. The author really drew back to his underlying theme in his masterpiece, Annasumanara, of society's views of what's a "good life" or a "good job" vs. a person's own perspective of it. Art - 8 - It didn't accentuate the entire series the way Annasumanara did, but the author's art was all right to begin with. Character - 8 - It's a slice of life manhwa..characters will be exaggerated at times, but the author still gave them some backstories. Enjoyment - 11!!!! - It's hilarious. I stayed up until 3 AM reading this (and Annasaumanara. I marathoned both of them in one sitting. That's probably why I keep comparing the two of them..lol) and multiple times I laughed so loud I was worried I was going to wake someone up and had to put my phone down before I dropped it. Overall - 10 - I don't judge the story or character as harshly with slice of life, but more by how much I was entertained by it. Since I clearly enjoyed it very much, it deserves a 10.
The man with the hand of God starts the scrub battle to become the best bath coordinator. (Source: MU)
First of all, this manhwa is so underrated. I enjoyed this series a lot so I came to sites to know what others feel about it, to see if others feel the same way I do. The characters for this manhwa are likeable in their own ways and to my surprise I didn't come to hate a single character unlike in other series that I've read; their own flaws made them lovable. I swear this series is funny (mostly when they get angry and grab skin due to the absence of clothes to grab). All of Ha Il-Kwon's series give life lessons and Godof Bath isn't an exception; it teaches you to follow your dream regardless if people think you're crazy or even if you're being looked down. This masterpiece isn't a waste of time so hurry up and check this out. I read this just within a day. But I'm warning you: you'll feel somehow incomplete after reading the end. Ha Il-Kwon wanted the readers to interpret the ending themselves so I guess that's why. And also because this is great but short in chapters (only 30 chapters) you'll find yourself craving for more. Nonetheless, you won't regret. Ciao.
We sometimes take a shower, use a bathtub, or maybe a bucket of water when we want to take a bath. But to get rid of the real dirt/dead skin we need to scrub. Hard, gentle, slow, fast whatever gets the job done. That’s what this Manhwa is all about— scrubbing dead skin aka Ttae(Korean). The protagonist of our story— Hau Seh, is a design graduate. He loves fancy city living. One hitch though, he is unemployed and poor. He somehow comes upon a huge bathhouse and ends up working there. To know more you’ve got to readthis story. God of Bath is a light, comedy, inspirational, slice of life. The plot is weird, unique and fresh. There are only 30chapters, I read it in one go, and loved it. Story 8/10 The story is short and sweet. There is no fluff, every page moves the story forward. It’s crisp. Art 8/10 Full colour webtoon style art is seen. The bath looks fabulous, characters are drawn well too. It has lots of semi-naked dudes, but that won’t grab your attention as much as the story will. Characters 8/10 Loved these guys. In such a short span we see character growth in our main guy as well as many other characters. And it feels very natural. The hallmark of a good manga is that the story is driven by the characters and not the other way round. The characters here are alive and you feel as if you are just taking a peek at their daily life. Nothing seems forced or fake. Enjoyment 8/10 I read this story in one go. Super fun. It is a light read with a little bit of philosophy added to it. I really wish it was longer. The proof is in the pudding. Give this story a go, you’ll love it. This is an underrated gem. Thank you for reading!
This is my first time writing a review, so.. it'll probably suck. But,all i can just say is lol.... This manga, in my opinion,it kinda has the One Punch an manga thing. It's kind of weird, stupid, but it has the humor. It doesn't really have action scenes like One Punch Man and stuff. This manga is purely based on humor. Sure it has the dramatic flashback scenes and all that father and son thing. But personally, i just see it as a manga made for humoring others. So, if you have time to waste or just want something to look at, you can just read thismanga.Because it's literally a manga based on scrubbing of dead skin. :)
