Chinatsu no Uta is a story about Chinatsu, a girl with a beautiful singing voice who moves to the country. And that's pretty much it. The rest is slice of life stuff that happens in the town. This is a slice of life manga that deals with some issues faced by people these days. Frustration, guilt, anger, loneliness. The general message is something along the lines of "Not everything in life is perfect. Some sad stuff happens but life moves on." The odd thing about this manga is that it feels incomplete. It hints at events that happen after the ending of the manga whichmade me question if I truly reached the end or if there was a sequel or something. From what I know this is it, so you're just left hanging. There's no resolution and the ending didn't satisfy me. Overall it's a pretty good slice of life manga. If you want to read a slice of life manga go ahead and read this. Someone who doesn't like slice of life probably won't like this.
The series takes place at a certain Japanese location where a girl moves in with her aunt to a new house after experiencing some more or less shocking event back home. There she meets a boy named Fuyuki who she from then on spends a lot of time with. The thing special about Chinatsu is her voice, a voice which many seems to have heard before, but from where? What's so special about this girl and what'll happen in the future? (Source: MU)
