This is just. Wow. Simply amazing. Story: I really enjoyed the storyline a lot, but that's mostly because I'm a sucker for bullying, friendship, and cute brother/sister relationships ((: It was really cute, and I thought my heart was going out of range. Sometimes I wish I treated my brother more like nicely. But anyway, aside from that, the story was smooth, and you won't regret it at all. Art: Beautiful. Enough said. Detailed and very cute. I think this must be one of my favorite art styles. Character: Character development is one of the most important aspects of manga. And this author did it perfectly. At first glance, you sympathizethe small girl and you just really really hate the main male character. You slowly warm up to them, however, and you see their comedic side, their loving side, and even their not-what-they-look-like side. I enjoyed it a lot, and this is a hard thing to accomplish in a 30 page oneshot. Enjoyment: I think I might have enjoyed this too much! Haha. Because of all the previous things I said, I had no problem engrossing myself in this manga. It was simply amazing. Overall: 10/10
Tomo has always been stuck with the dependent Miyako ever since she was born. For half of his life, he had been forced to look out for her due to her clumsiness and unreliability. Simply put, he "hates" her. But there is something that completely prevents him from telling her his real feelings. When she is about to move to the United States, will he be able to love and let go, all before it's too late? A lovely, touching story about a boy and the one most important to him. (Source: MU)
I'm the first to review...oh well, i'll do my best to be good...lolz Reasons to read Wasreyuki: >Kill ur time during summer/ Like reading manga >A fan of Amano Shinobu >A really Fresh sweet story with no "taboo's" "Wasureyuki" or to translate "Forget-it-all-snow" is a sweet one short by Amano Shinobu, famous for here work, last game. Its based upon brother-sister, with a very good twist in the end, unlike the usual brother-sister love stuff. Personally i was satisfied with the twist and turns, but the ending was something i never though would happen..something like the usual shojo stuff was what i expected...what happens, well, you find that out! STORY: The protagonist,Tomo has always been taking care of his dependent sister Miyako ever since she was born. She being a clumsy girl, he always ha sto take care of her. In his words "forced" to take care of her. For half of his life, he has been with her, and gradually gets annoyed and terms this as his "hate". Simply, he Hates his own sister for being dependent. But are those his real feelings?. There comes a stage when they have to be apart from each other, would he be able to love and let go, all before it's too late? Will he face his real feelings. Waasureyuki is all about this sweet story or saga in Tomo's life. ART: Pretty neat. Nothing great, its just the usual art of Amano-sensei's. Very similar to her other works. But its still pretty for the story. Also the presentation of emotions for the particular scene is also nicely illustrated CHARACTER: Tomo, is a very arrogant or to be precise very harsh with his words. Most of the times he just brushes Miyako aways, but by heart he is quite soft. Miyako, on the other hand is very clumsy, maybe dumb too because all of Tomo's harsh words never hurt her. Just like a dog wangling back to his master..But its clear she loves her brother. side chara are also really nice, especially Tomo's friend. ENJOYMENT: Its a really fresh story and also a good read. If you like cute sweet stories, you are sure to like it. If not, why not try one? PERSONAL TAKE: Personally, i liked this story as its a bit more practical compared to other Brother-Sister story which involve many taboo's (love, attractions, x, stuff). Its a possible story but also has its own limits. I also liked Tomo's actions, as its really annoying to always help ur younger sibbling, but in a way we like helping each other our even if we don't mention it ^_^ OVERALL: A lovely, touching story about a boy and the one most important to him. Good Read (8/5/2012)
A lot of people have probably heard the phrase, “clumsiness is not a flaw”. It came about because people were tired of clumsy characters who were only clumsy when it allowed them to fall into the arms of their supposed true love, or their clumsiness only showed up once or twice. When it comes to “Wasureyuki” though the character Miyako is always clumsy and her clumsiness is ultra important to the plot. It's not your typical clumsy story. On the down side the art isn't that great. You could say that it is dry. It's dry not because the character designs aren't interesting. There are timesthe background ends up washed out. These are flashback scenes and in some ways this is good, but sometimes it feels like the pictures are a little to hazy and to be honest the detail of the artwork doesn't meld well with the faded out flashback where the background is lighter. The real reason to read this particular one-shot is for the nice surprise at the end. The story is unique. On top of this the characters are really sweet.
Second to review! The story was really good! It's not a romance even if you don't get that right away and the turn of events was hinted at throughout the story so it wasn't so much as a shock but more of a story played out well. It's definitely a good one shot to read when you need something because it's one of those mangas that leaves a good feeling after seeing their heartwarming relationship:)!
it would have been awesome if this got a serialization❤️ story: 10 originally, i was gonna give a 9, but i thought of how much i LOVED the ending, that i gave it a 10 instead. honestly, it's written outstandingly as a story and a one-shot. art: 10 i adore the author's art so much and her other workscharacter: 9 the characters are different and written with relatable situations, and those circumstances (especially tomo's). Their personalities and character traits are well done and fit this heart stopping story. enjoyment and overall: 10 I enjoyed it so much and hope you do, reader!
