This manga just comes across as mean spirited and seems to only have one joke in its repertoire, that being just to make fun of a fat girl. The plot is basically nonexistent, which isn't really a problem for a 4koma comedy series but the humor is just 3rd grade level. If you don't think "hey let's point and laugh at the fat girl. She's eating lots of food again!" Is funny, then you won't be in for a good time becuase that is the only joke this manga has to offer. The lead character and her new friend from class are tolerable, but theswim team presidentLou and vice president are pretty intolerable to read. They both have "quirky" personalities that just sort of read as being cruel and as a result they're just impossible to like. The art is okay, nothing particularly unique or special but it does the job fine enough. I believe this one should be a pass for just about everyone. It's not cute, it's not fun, the characters aren't likeable. The art is passable, not bad just nothing special. It's genuinely unbelievable a manga this unfunny lasted for 5 volumes, but it's not hard to see why no one bothered to finish translating it.
Oota Katsuyo is a 15-year-old girl just entering high school. She's short and plump, thanks to being the daughter of a family that runs a tonkatsu shop. She's followed her crush from middle school to the same high school, and she's devastated when she finds out he's not interested in chubby girls. As she's looking for ways to lose weight, the free-spirited president of the swimming club, Itou Hatsume, and her serious and demanding vice-president, Kaji Rinko, are looking for new members to supplement their roster of two. When Katsuyo meets Kaitani Ayumi, a rail-thin girl with an appetite that matches her own, Ayumi drags her to the swimming club to join up. Will Katsuyo have trouble measuring up to the demands of the swimming club, or can she make a big splash?
