Complex: My only real complaint doesn't pertain to the manga itself. But to whoever did quality control on the scanslation. The text can be downright annoying on occasion because no-one seemed to think sentences like "What's a rude guy!" didn't look a little odd. Anyway, onto the actual review. Story: At it's core it's basic shoujo manga fare. But there's enough comedy thrown in to keep things shaken up and doing what they're supposed to. There's a few surprises and of course you're going to want to punch most of the main male characters for being epic retards. But it kept me reading to the end,and I'm not 'supposed' to like this stuff. :p I'll even fess up and admit I cried during a couple parts... but don't go calling me a girly-man... they were manly tears of...uhm...GAR and vinegar or something. <_< Art: It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I didn't much care for 'pretty Rin' or most of the other pretty people but that's really personal taste there and has nothing to do with the art. I will say it gave off a real Ouran vibe when it was being serious. Just art wise that's what I was reminded of. Rin looks a lot like Haruhi did with the long hair. Character: Well I almost covered that in the art section. I liked the characters from a design standpoint though (even the one's I disliked, yes I liked them because I disliked their personalities.). To take it away from an art standpoint. Each characters got their own attitude and everything like good characters should. Rin on the other hand is cute. She's cute when she's dressed like a guy, she's cute when she's acting normal. She's even cute when she's in pretty mode even if Normal Rin is better than Pretty Rin (IMO). That is somewhat un-nerving though since she's supposed to be fourteen through most of this. -_-;; Of course the intended demographic (as a majority) wouldn't have that problem... unless they fancied Tora... and then they'd have the same problem... The other two scoring categories can't really be reviewed since Overall isn't really a category and Enjoyment is entirely subject to opinion. So I guess that means this is over.
Rin is tomboyish 14-year-old who lives with her grandpa in a small village out in the countryside. After her grandpa's death, Rin is obligated to leave her village to live with her mother in Tokyo. When she arrives, she discovers an amazing secret: her mother is not an office lady, but a famous model called Myu Suzuki! After one night of reunion, Rin's mother left the next morning following some guy to some foreign country without any notice other than a letter. Without any money to survive on (her mom did not know grandpa died), and the contract between Myu's and the model company, what is Rin is to do?
