Perfect story, perfect art. Grips me from page to page. But I would still say that this story lacks a considerable amount of character development. I personally think that the plot moves faster than the characters. I barely understand the story line during the first few chapters making me have to go back and forth between pages to be able to fully understand each character's links with one another. However, I think that that is the purpose of the manga: making me drop my jaw in shock. I like this story. I came across it while looking for martial arts/action/psychological mangas and not once wasI disappointed. For anyone who is looking forward to read this do so because everyone needs a bit of this in their life.
In the 2020’s the Japanese female culture was extremely corrupted in the eyes of the first women prime minister. To bring back the beauty of Japanese femininity, she created the Amazon Academy, a girls-only school, on an artificial island isolated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Amesu Kumi just transferred into Amazon Academy to investigate the death of her older sister, Towa, who also attended the school until she died in a shroud of mystery. The only clue she has is the name Burai Sachiko left in Towa’a cell phone. How could Kumi have known that the school literally turns into a battlefield when classes are over; where petite girls beat each other senseless in order to survive. (Source: MangaHelpers)
For something I accidentally ran into, it was quite amusing. Story - 7/10 This type of story has been done before; a group of people separated from the outside world living by a new set of rules that have been forced upon them. Put this together with the hint of mystery which would be the “Why is this happening?” and you got yourself a story. The pacing of the story was quite fast, as to be expected of a manga with only fifteen chapters. But, in my opinion this is okay because if it would have been longer it would have become tedious. Art - 8/10 I personallyreally liked the art. The characters were portrayed in an amazing way in which it would suite their character perfectly. The only problem I had was that the facial expressions of many characters were not convincing, which slightly ruins the moment at certain points. Character - 4/10 At first the set of characters seemed great but they turn out to be quite boring. The characters all fit the story nicely and it is very interesting in the beginning. Too bad there was not a lot of good character development going on. Every character stays the same until almost the end of the story, then they abruptly change. Enjoyment - 7/10 Even though I have seen and read this type of story hundreds of times already, I must say I enjoyed this work. Now I must mention that I am a fan of this type of works, but hear me out. The plot was executed in a believable and convincing way and the mystery kept me reading until the last page. And even though there is not a lot of development going on, the characters are still likeable. Overall - 7/10 The story has been done before and the characters do not develop well. In my opinion you should not go and read this with high expectations because they will not be fulfilled. Why should you read it anyway? Because even though the story has been done before it is fun to see how it develops, you can enjoy the nice art style and it’s only fifteen chapters after all. You will not need long to finish reading this but you feel satisfied afterwards, and is that not the most important?
