Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou is the kind of manga that will catch a reader's attention in the first few chapters itself. It manages to live up to the expectations of people who have seen the anime adaptation and come to the manga looking for more. It's a Slice of Life so the main plot progresses at its own pace, but you'll never find yourself getting bored of it. There's always something entertaining going on at the Kawai complex. The story itself isn't something extraordinary. It's a tale of 6 people - 4 adults and 2 students, each having their own eccentric personalities - living in thesame housing complex. What makes the manga special is the way the chemistry between the characters works. Their daily interactions make your heart flutter and make you chuckle, also managing to make you laugh out loud at times. The tone of the manga is consistent throughout - you'll often find yourself smiling as you read the chapters - and it's hard to stop reading once you get attached to the characters, which is bound to happen sooner than later. The romance between the main couple is the driving aspect of the story, and the fact that it gets proper closure is something to look forward to. No one wants to be left hanging when it comes to ships, right? Every character has a role to play, and the way their personalities have been written is what causes the comedy to work very well. They all compliment and play off each other, making it an amusing read. Being a character-driven story, it's interesting to see how each characters' quirks, habits and back-stories are revealed as the story progresses, adding newer comedic elements for the readers to look forward to. There are several running gags in the manga, like Shiro's masochism, Sayaka's phobias and how her bare-face is always covered in mosaic, Chinatsu's pseudo-sadism, Usa's makeup phobia and Mayumi's hate for innocent, pure romance. The lead couple - Ritsu and Usa - form an adorable pair. While Usa's character doesn't change all that much, watching Ritsu's character develop and open up to Usa is a heart-fluttering experience which leaves you wanting for more. It happens very naturally and realistically, one of the reasons I consider the romance to be great. There are no accidental panty shots or boob grabs which would cause the characters to blush uncontrollably - no, had that been the case, I wouldn't be here writing this review. It is simple and innocent, without much drama involved. The side characters are like a cherry on top of the cake and their appearances are something to look forward to - they play a major role in furthering the romance. The art is very clean and appealing. Panels featuring a single character look especially great, since the mangaka goes all out with the details. My favorite panels are the ones featuring Ritsu blushing. The mangaka did an incredible job at making her look enchanting in those panels, and I often found myself coming back to look at particular panels to admire the artwork. (#TopTierWaifuMaterial) Overall, I think it's a great read. It's oblivious to reality however, so don't go about comparing the manga to your real life since that could possibly send you spiraling into several days of melancholy.
Kazunari Usa's dream to live away from his parents is fulfilled when they allow him to move into an old boarding house called Kawai Complex. With his landlady providing him meals and his parents covering his rent, Kazunari finally achieves the peaceful life he longs for, as he is ready to enter his first year at high school. Or so it seems... Upon moving into the boarding house, Kazunari finds out that he has to share a room with resident masochist Shirosaki. He must also live under the same roof as Mayumi Nishikino, a drunkard with a hopeless love life, and Sayaka Watanabe, a seemingly innocent college student. Although he is surrounded by these unique characters, Kazunari still counts himself lucky to be living in the same building as Ritsu Kawai, a second-year student he has a crush on. As Kazunari settles into the boarding house, he soon realizes that the inhabitants of Kawai Complex are bound to add a twist to the life he has been hoping to live. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou is a high school rom-com series aimed for mature audience. However, essentially the manga is a story about Ritsu Kawai, the love interest of our main character. The entire story heavily relies on Ritsu's character and character development -- taking things like love and romance as nothing but part of ones life. This approach is already interesting as to most romance writers, there don't seem to be all that much else to romance stories than narrative driving cliches and the romantic feelings. Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou goes in-depth with the love interests personal life, thoughts and overall personality there where somany others follow the philosophy "do you even need a reason to love someone?" This time, our author shows that even if you do not need such things, those things exist in great numbers. Simply liking someone is not enough in this story. Rather, it shows how much it takes to fully understand other person, who they are and how to be with them. Just to quote Damien Rice: "It takes a lot to give, to ask for help. To be yourself, to know and love what you live with." A thought that is very relevant and accurate in this manga. Overall, while this series relies somewhat to the typical on off thing where characters ponder and try to accept their feelings. To give their confession and hook together and conclude the story with what is expected of it, the route is not superficial nor shallow, but the trip creates a strong belief to its reader that this romance will last.
Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou... First of all, I have to say, what a refreshing read. Heartwarming wholesome romance, hilarious comedy accompanied by beautiful and fitting art. I personally enjoyed every second of it. Art Every character is drawn according to their personalities, which is a nice cherry on top of the character design. This manga is pretty heavy on comedy, and the use of chibi art style is more than fitting. I’d say the art forms 70 % of the comedy in this particular manga. And if you’re looking for some cute wifus, the kawai complex presents plenty, especially close ups of certain female character’s facialexpressions will make your heart skip a beat (mostly Rit-chan’s). Story Even though I said Kawai-sou is a wholesome romance manga, it doesn’t shy away from showing some adult or ecchi topics, like masochism, alcoholism, sex, or women hunting for men, just to show superiority. However, it portrays these topics in a comedic way, and it’s not trying to overwhelm you with some pointless drama. It’s not trying to be deep, it just wants you to enjoy the ride. The main “couple” goes through a lot of character development over the series, and the relationship development is natural and realistic. The key reason why I enjoyed it so much is the chemistry between its side characters. None of the main side characters feel like they’re left out of conversations, and because of their unique personalities, every single one of them has something funny to say, giving every conversation a nice twist. The only “complaint” I have is about the ending. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but I feel like it was a missed opportunity, to have this long build up, and then just end it with a one panel, but that just might be my opinion. Characters I said a lot about the characters in the previous paragraphs, so I’ll keep it simple. Characters were realistic, unique, and thoroughly thought through. The chemistry between them was the best thing about the whole manga. Overall The only reason why I didn’t give it 10/10 is the slight disappointment hidden in the ending (it was really slight, don’t get discouraged to read it. It was still a good ending), and mostly because I haven’t read a lot of manga, so I don’t have much comparison material. However, I’m sure I’ll come back some day, and give this manga the righteous 10/10. If you want something easy and heartwarming, definitely give it a read. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Ah, this is my first review, so I apologize in advance if my use of English is not good because my everyday language is not English. let's go to the discussion. I think the anime producer bokura wa minna kawaii-sou made a mistake. why? because he adapted the anime bokura wa minna kawai-sou not until the end of the manga story. I'm sure if the anime is made a sequel until the end of the story, the anime bokura wa minna kawai-sou will become a phenomenal anime. I bought the manga from the beginning to the end. The manga's continuation storyline will certainly make readers laugh outloud. good art make the comedy very epic, especially the author when draw Shirosaki's perverted behavior always makes me laugh. The author always makes a touching story behind the stupidity of the characters. it becomes the main value of this manga. Each character has a unique personality. I highly recommend this manga. many people say the story of bokura wa minna kawai-sou is similar to sakurasou no pet na kanojo, actually it's not. I don't think the two stories are the same. the story of bokura wa minna kawaisou has more moral values in it and doesn't exaggerate the fanservice too much. Overall this manga is perfect. this manga is not widely known, but it has a fantastic and realistic story. I recommend those of you who watch the anime to read the manga. because many interesting characters appear in the manga that are not shown in the anime.
Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou was the first manga I ever read . The content in itself is pretty hilarious. I wouldn't recommend it for the romance as it is very slow and quite generic in nature. The enjoyment comes from the fact how the 6 people (2m 4f) sharing a complex along with the various side characters bring forward a story that makes you laugh through the smaller moments that we generally forget to cherish . Although I have read the manga so many times that I can recount all incidents perfectly in chronological order ,it is really so good that I wouldn't refuse readingit again Story:the story is pretty good. While the romance is pretty slow and is quite generic in nature the other aspects of the story more than makes up for it.I personally feel that compared to the rest of the manga the ending was pretty rushed and could have been much better. The sub plots were quite well written and makes use of the quirky character to its fullest. Art: normal art ,not bad, have seen better. Character:much of the enjoyment in the story comes from the way the characters are presented .It wouldn't be improper to say that the story itself stand on the framework built by the characters.A quick introduction and a no non sense character description makes sure that each gag and subplot can be related to their personality.Though on reflection i must also say that it would have been better if the same could be done foe the side characters as well. Enjoyment:I have personally never seen such comedy being pulled off without any sexual reference( sexual references are not absent ...just few in number) .In terms of comedy there is only on other manga that was able to make me laugh more than this(Grand Blue). All in all I would say that this is the perfect thing to read if you want to relax and enjoy some good comedy . Definitely worth the time.
