Story (7): The story was pretty cute. I would rate is a bit higher but there was a whole volume dedicated to a troupe that I highly dislike so that it a personal issue. Otherwise I'd say the plot was somewhat unique for a bl and the love was very genuine and adorable! Art (10): I may be biased on this one. I outright love Zaou's art. It is so crisp and beautiful. When I see a manga by Zaou I can easily identify it, which definitely show talent! Character (7): I thought the characters were all very cute but at the same time the personalities causeda lot of random drama. I would've traded the drama for more fluff so I didn't like how stubborn and rather self centered Izumi was. Enjoyment (8): I binged it in one go and thought it was adorable, all except that 1 vol I mentioned before, but again that is a personal pet-peeve. Overall (8): I think this is a very good BL manga, especially for beginners that are okay with the erotic scenes.
Izumi Sena was born to one of the most well known showbiz families in Japan—but while the world waits for his debut as a new star, Izumi just wants to become a distinguished manga artist and fulfill his otaku dreams! Despite being surrounded by stardom his whole life, a traumatizing experience at a commercial shoot 10 years ago forced him into emotional recluse and eventually into the arms of his favorite fictional character, Magical Girl LalaLulu. However, it turns out that Izumi is not in the clear yet. Considering that he is far from becoming a manga artist of any sort, he joins a shooting for the sequel of that dreaded commercial from his past. What's more, his co-star from the past, who is also invited to reprise his role, is none other than the famous actor Ryouma Ichijou. Izumi does not fancy wearing a dress again—but Ryouma is eager to see the beautiful "girl" who captured his heart 10 years ago. How will this fateful reunion turn out? [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Yeah... Love Stage!! is okay, and the only way I was able to enjoy it was to consider this as a really bad parody drama. Like, the story is actually interesting, but LS!! has many problematic tropes that unfortunately many BL stories have, and it sucks cause the plot actually has potential. The characters are stereotypes, not really growing throughout the story, and many of the problematic things they do are laughed off-- this is labeled as comedy, but serious topics shouldn't be just laughed and brushed off. Art is subjective, so it's not really ''bad'', I just personally don't like it. I did kindaenjoy the story on the first third of the manga, but as the story progressed and characters didn't change that much, I started to lose my interest. Overall, it's a 'meh' BL manga, and the only reason why I even read it is because many consider this being one of the series that made BL stories popular -- or something.
The anime itself is interesting but the manga is where it really shines It is the best bl oy yaoi iv ever read ive had to re read the manga once i was finished i highly suggest anyone who is interested to read the manga it is the best ive seen in my entire life and i loved it, The story was very unique with lots of development i liked the art style of the characters it really did fit their personalitys it was probably the most realistic one ive ever seen reaction wise they mostly reacted to situations as any other person would i really believe others will also enjoy it.
